During the week of January 13, 2019, CBS announced that Gladys Knight will perform "The Star-Spangled Banner" as part of the pregame show at the upcoming Super Bowl LIII. The game and festivities, to be broadcast February 3, will take place in Knight's hometown of Atlanta, GA at the city's Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Also that week, the Recording Academy announced a Grammy concert in honor of Motown Records to take place in Los Angeles on February 12, 2019, two days after the 61st Grammy Awards. This event, which is one of a number of tributes taking place this year that mark the legendary record label's 60th anniversary, will air March 10 on CBS. Featured performers will include Smokey Robinson and Patti LaBelle.

The Steve Miller Band announced a series of eight concerts beginning March 12, 2019 in Clearwater, FL and ending March 24 in Southaven, MS, also covering Alabama and South Carolina. Jackson Browne will launch a 13-date tour that begins on March 22 in Durham, NC and ends on April 9 in Miami Beach, FL, with stops in several other Southeastern states.

The Doobie Brothers announced a 10-date headlining tour that kicks off on April 9, 2019 in Englewood, NJ and ends on April 23 in Huntsville, AL, also covering many other states around the country. John Fogerty, Tom Jones, Jerry Lee Lewis, Van Morrison, Santana, Bob Seger, and The Rolling Stones are among the many featured veteran performers at the upcoming 2019 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival which takes place April 25-28 and May 2-5.

Willie Nelson, Brian Wilson, and Grateful Dead co-founder Bob Weir will headline the inaugural BeachLife Festival in Redondo Beach, CA scheduled for May 3-5, 2019. The Who announced a 2019 North American tour dubbed "Moving On!" covering many states across the country plus several Canadian provinces, with 29 dates confirmed so far beginning May 7 in Grand Rapids, MI. Eric Burdon & The Animals, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rick Springfield, and Jon Anderson of Yes are among the headlining performers at the inaugural KAABOO Texas festival to be held May 10-12 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX.

In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of his performance at Woodstock and the 20th anniversary of his Grammy-winning album, "Supernatural," Santana will launch a tour later this year dubbed "Supernatural Now." This 29-date trek kicks off on June 22 in Phoenix, AZ and ends on August 25 in Wantagh, NY, with stops in many states around the country as well as Ontario, Canada. The guitar legend will be joined by fellow classic rock icons, The Doobie Brothers.

Two albums by Meat Loaf, "Bat Out Of Hell II: Back Into Hell" (1993) and "Welcome To The Neighbourhood" (1995), will be released on vinyl for the first time in the U.S. on February 8, 2019. Chaka Khan announced a new studio album titled "Hello Happiness" which is due out on February 15. Also, The Byrds' 1973 self-titled reunion album featuring all five original members - David Crosby, Roger McGuinn, Gene Clark, Chris Hillman, and Michael Clark - will be reissued March 1 on vinyl.

Also that week, it was announced that Robbie Robertson, The Band's founding guitarist and main songwriter, will be presented with the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame's Lifetime Achievement Award. He will receive this honor at the 2019 Canadian Music and Broadcast Industry Awards Gala Dinner to take place May 9, 2019 in Toronto.

Finally, Janis Joplin will be honored posthumously at the 7th annual She Rocks Awards with the organization's first Lifetime Achievement Award. The late rock legend will be saluted with a special performance featuring Orianthi, Judith Hill, and others. This event will take place January 25, 2019 at the House of Blues in Anaheim, CA during the NAMM Show.
