During the week of November 5, 2017, the Songwriters Hall of Fame announced its nominees for 2018. Among those in the Performers category are Jimmy Cliff, Alice Cooper, The Isley Brothers, Kool & The Gang, John Mellencamp, and Tom T. Hall.

A new Diana Ross compilation titled "Diamond Diana: The Legacy Collection" will be coming out later this month. Van Morrison announced a new album titled "Versatile" which will be coming out in December. Also due out that month is a super deluxe, limited-edition reissue of "More Of The Monkees," the band's second album. Coming out next January is a new compilation titled "Dr. Demento Covered In Punk" featuring punk rock covers of various classic oldies and other songs.

Graham Nash announced his first set of shows for 2018 which will begin next February. Also, Brian Wilson announced a series of concerts to take place next May at Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville where he will be accompanied by the Nashville Symphony.

Also that week, it was announced that Patti LaBelle will be joining the cast of the Fox TV series, "Star," beginning next spring.

November 6, 2017: New Diana Ross Compilation To Be Released

A new Diana Ross compilation titled "Diamond Diana: The Legacy Collection" will be coming out on November 17, 2017 as a digital download. This 15-track collection brings together all her solo hits that include such classics as "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," "Love Hangover," "Touch Me In The Morning," and "Upside Down." Also included are selected songs with The Supremes and her chart-topping duet with Lionel Richie, "Endless Love."

November 6, 2017: Van Morrison To Release New Album

Van Morrison announced a new album titled "Versatile" which will be coming out on December 1, 2017. This upcoming 16-track collection includes many beloved jazz standards along with six new original songs by Morrison. Among the covers are such classics as "I Left My Heart In San Francisco," "Makin' Whoopee," "The Party's Over," and "They Can't Take That Away From Me."

November 7, 2017: Songwriters Hall Of Fame 2018 Nominees Announced

The Songwriters Hall of Fame announced its nominees for 2018. Among those in the Performing category are Jimmy Cliff, Alice Cooper, The Isley Brothers, Kool & The Gang, John Mellencamp, and Tom T. Hall. Among the nominees in the Non-Performing category are Bill Anderson, L. Russell Brown/Irwin Levine, Mike Chapman, Steve Dorff, Randy Goodrum, Sandy Linzer/Denny Randell, Tony Macaulay, William "Mickey" Stevenson, and Allee Willis. The winners will be inducted in a ceremony to take place June 14, 2018 in New York City. Eligible members have until December 17, 2017 to turn in ballots with their choices of three nominees from each category.

November 7, 2017: The Monkees' Second Album To Be Reissued As Deluxe Edition

A super deluxe, limited-edition version of "More Of The Monkees," the band's second album, will be coming out on December 15, 2017. Originally released in January 1967, this Billboard 200 chart topper includes such classics as "I'm A Believer," "(I'm Not Your) Steppin' Stone," and "Mary, Mary," plus 55 previously unreleased tracks. November 7, 2017: New Dr. Demento Box Set To Be Released

A new compilation titled "Dr. Demento Covered In Punk" featuring punk rock covers of various classic oldies and other songs will be coming out on January 12, 2018. Among the featured performers are Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, William Shatner, Adam West, and "Weird Al" Yankovic.

November 9, 2017: Graham Nash Announces 2018 Tour Dates

Graham Nash announced his first series of concerts for 2018. So far, 10 dates have been scheduled beginning February 27, 2018 in Annapolis, MD and ending March 18 in St. Louis, MO, also covering various cities in Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, North and South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. Nash will continue to promote his 2016 album, "This Path Tonight."

November 10, 2017: Patti LaBelle To Join Cast Of 'Star'

Patti LaBelle will be joining the cast of "Star," a musical drama TV series created for Fox TV that premiered on December 14, 2016. She will play Christine, the mother of Carlotta Brown as portrayed by Queen Latifah. LaBelle will make her debut sometime during the spring of 2018.

November 10, 2017: Brian Wilson To Perform With The Nashville Symphony

Brian Wilson announced three concerts to take place May 10-12, 2018 at Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville, TN, where he will be accompanied by the Nashville Symphony. He will also be joined by former Beach Boys band mates, Al Jardine and Blondie Chaplin.
