During the week of June 11, 2017, The Impressions, Gladys Knight, The Marvelettes, Freda Payne, and Mitch Ryder were among those inducted into the Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame. Also, Sir Paul McCartney was honored by Queen Elizabeth II with the prestigious Companion of Honour appointment for his services to music.

Also that week, the National Music Publishers Association (NMPA) announced its plans to credit Yoko Ono as a co-writer on John Lennon's "Imagine."

Van Morrison was recently added to the lineup for Willie Nelson's inaugural Outlaw Music Festival Tour which kicks off next month in Dallas, TX. This year's Laid Back Festival, an annual touring event co-founded by the late Gregg Allman, will take place in September, with Jackson Browne, Steve Winwood, and Peter Wolf among the featured performers. Also that month, the 2017 edition of the Farm Aid festival will take place in Burgettstown, PA, with performances by Dave Matthews, John Mellencamp, Willie Nelson, and Neil Young. Also, the 2nd Annual '70s Rock & Romance Cruise is set to take place in March, 2018, with America, Badfinger, B.J. Thomas, and War to be among the many featured artists.

Bob Seger announced that ten of his albums will now be available for streaming. CD audio companions to three Rolling Stones concert films are scheduled for release later this month. Six solo albums by members of ABBA will be reissued on vinyl in July. Also, a CD/DVD set titled "Carole King -- Tapestry: Live At Hyde Park" capturing her 2016 London concert will be coming out in September.

Also that week, it was announced that Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood's 1967 hit, "Summer Wine," topped Billboard & Clio's Top TV Commercials chart for the month of May. This song was featured in a recent H&M TV commercial.

Finally, June 16, 2017 marked the 50th anniversary of Day One of the historic Monterey International Pop Festival.

June 12, 2017: Six Solo Albums By Members Of ABBA To Be Reissued On Vinyl

Six solo albums by members of ABBA will be reissued on vinyl July 28, 2017. Originally released in 1970, "Lycka" is a collection of folk-rock songs that Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson released as a duo before the formation of ABBA. Also due out are two albums by Agnetha Fältskog - "Wrap Your Arms Around Me" (1983) and "Eyes Of A Woman" (1985) - and three albums by Anni-Frid Lyngstad (a.k.a. Frida) - "Ensam" (1975), "Something's Going On" (1982), and "Shine" (1984).

June 12, 2017: 2017 Laid Back Festival To Feature Jackson Browne & More

This year's Laid Back Festival, a travelling celebration of music and food co-founded in 2015 by the late Gregg Allman, is set to begin on September 21, 2017 in Holmdel, NJ and will take place over several days in various Northeastern states. June 12, 2017: Rhythm & Blues Hall Of Fame Inducts Gladys Knight & More

On June 11, 2017, the Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame inducted its fifth class in a ceremony that took place at Detroit's Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts. Among this year's honorees were Gerald Austin, Carl Carlton, Dennis Coffey, The Impressions, Gladys Knight & The Pips, The Marvelettes, Freda Payne, Mitch Ryder, and The Valadiers. Late R&B greats James Brown, Isaac Hayes, and Mary Wells were also honored posthumously. The Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame was founded in 2010 by Cleveland sports and entertainment impresario, Lamont "Showboat" Robinson.

June 13, 2017: Audio From Three Rolling Stones Concert Videos Released

CD audio companions to three Rolling Stones concert films are scheduled for release on June 16, 2017. "Ladies & Gentlemen Live In Texas 1972" features performances from the band's 1972 tour in support of "Exile On Main Street." "Some Girls: Live In Texas '78" was recorded at a show in Fort Worth, TX soon after the band's album, "Some Girls," topped the Billboard 200. "Live At The Checkerboard Lounge, Chicago 1981" captures a concert in which several band members performed alongside Muddy Waters at his Chicago club.

June 13, 2017: Carole King 2016 London Concert To Be Released As CD/DVD Set

A CD/DVD set capturing Carole King's 2016 concert in London's Hyde Park will be coming out on September 1, 2017. "Carole King -- Tapestry: Live At Hyde Park" features King's first-ever live performance of her 1971 album, "Tapestry," in its entirety. The concert also features King performing various hit songs she penned during the 1960s with then-husband, Gerry Goffin, for other artists.

June 14, 2017: 2017 Farm Aid To Take Place In Burgettstown, PA

Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood's 1967 hit, "Summer Wine," made its debut at #1 on Billboard & Clio's Top TV Commercials chart for the month of May. This classic oldies duet was recently featured in an H&M TV commercial, "The Summer Shop 2017." Created in 2014, Billboard & Clio's Top TV Commercials chart uses tagging data from Shazam, plus sales and streaming information from Nielsen.

June 14, 2017: Yoko Ono To Get Co-Songwriting Credit For 'Imagine'

The National Music Publishers Association (NMPA) announced that it plans to credit Yoko Ono as a co-writer on John Lennon's "Imagine" per the late Beatle's wishes. NMPA CEO David Israelite showed a video from a 1980 BBC interview in which John Lennon stated that Ono deserved a songwriting credit for the song because of her influence and inspiration on it. The process of officially crediting Ono is already underway, and although it will take some time, Israelite is optimistic that it will be confirmed.

June 16, 2017: Ten Bob Seger Albums Now Available Digitally

Bob Seger announced that ten of his albums will now be available for streaming for the first time. These albums include several greatest hits compilations plus "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man" (1968), "Beautiful Loser" (1975), "Night Moves" (1976), "Stranger In Town" (1978), "Against The Wind" (1980), "The Distance" (1982), and "Like A Rock" (1986).

June 16, 2017: Paul McCartney Receives U.K. Companion Of Honour Appointment

In 1997, Paul McCartney was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II, and as part of the 2017 U.K. monarch's Birthday Honours, he was honored again by the Queen with the Companion of Honour appointment for his services to music. To date, the rock legend is one of only several musicians to receive this prestigious honor. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Order of the Companions of Honour which King George V founded in 1917 to honor those with outstanding achievement in various fields.
