During the week of November 10, 2013, it was announced that CBS will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Beatles' historic first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show with a two-hour special titled "The Night That Changed America: A Grammy Salute to the Beatles," to be shown on February 9, 2014.

Also that week, the French government gave Bob Dylan the prestigious Legion of Honor award, this country's highest decoration. The award ceremonies took place in Paris where Dylan is currently on tour.

The Rolling Stones just released a DVD of the band's concerts from last July at London's Hyde Park (see video clip below). Also, a box set of material recorded by the Small Faces from 1967-1969 is set to be released early next year.

Black Sabbath added some new show dates for 2014 in North America and Europe. Also, Stevie Nicks will be appearing in this season's "American Horror Story," a horror TV series on FX.

Dave Davies is currently working on a documentary about his years in the music business. Also, a biopic about the late and great Keith Moon is in the works.

Finally, fans paid their last respects to Lou Reed at his funeral which was held at New York's Lincoln Center.

November 10, 2013: Dave Davies Documentary In The Works

Dave Davies of the Kinks is currently working on a documentary about his years in the music business titled "Dave Davies' Rock N Roll Journey." Davies, who is working with his son Martin on this project, is planning to interview old colleagues, other celebrities and Kinks fans. Davies made another film released in 2009 titled "Mystical Journey," a more spiritual work in which Davies delves into the mysteries of life.

November 11, 2013: Rolling Stones Release Hyde Park Concerts DVD

The Rolling Stones just released a DVD titled "Sweet Summer Sun - Hyde Park Live" of concerts from last July at London's Hyde Park. Over 100,000 fans attended these concerts, and former Stones member Mick Taylor joined the band onstage for two songs.

November 11, 2013: Keith Moon Biopic In The Works

A biopic about the late and great drummer from The Who, Keith Moon, is in the works. Roger Daltrey is currently working on this project with Da Vinci Media Ventures, this film's production company. Moon died in 1978 at age 32 of a drug overdose.

November 12, 2013: Stevie Nicks To Appear In 'American Horror Story'

Stevie Nick will be appearing in the 2013 season of "American Horror Story" (titled "American Horror Story: Coven") which premiered on October 9, 2013, and ends in January 2014. "American Horror Story" is a horror TV series on FX which first aired in 2011. Each season is a self-contained miniseries with its own set of characters, settings, and storyline.

November 13, 2013: Bob Dylan Receives French Legion Of Honor Award

The French government gave Bob Dylan the prestigious Legion of Honor award, this country's highest decoration established by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1802. Dylan was presented this award by Culture Minister Aurelie Filippetti in Paris, where Dylan is currently on tour.

November 14, 2013: Black Sabbath To Extend Tour Into 2014

Black Sabbath added some new show dates for 2014 in North America and Europe. The shows in North America, most of which will take place in Canada, will begin on March 31, 2014 at Brooklyn's Barclays Center and wrap on April 26 at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Black Sabbath has been on tour since last April in support of the band's latest album, "13."

November 14, 2013: Small Faces Limited Edition Box Set To Be Released

A box set of material recorded by the Small Faces during the band's three years with Immediate Records is scheduled to be released early next year. This collection, titled "Here Come the Nice: The Immediate Years 1967-1969" will include 75 tracks of singles, hits songs, previously unreleased versions, outtakes, and live cuts. This limited edition box set, which will be available exclusively through amazon.com, will also include a photo book, art prints, and reproductions of vinyl EPs.

November 14, 2013: Beatles' 1964 TV Debut To Be Commemorated In CBS Grammy Special

February 9, 2014 marks the 50th anniversary of the Beatles' historic first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show. On that day, CBS will air a two-hour special to commemorate this event titled "The Night That Changed America: A Grammy Salute to the Beatles." This show will feature performances of classic Beatles' songs by various Grammy-winning bands and artists who will be taking part in the 56th Grammy Awards ceremony on January 26, 2014.

November 15, 2013: Lou Reed Memorial Held At New York's Lincoln Center

On November 14, 2013, a public memorial service was held in memory of Lou Reed at New York's Lincoln Center. Three hours of Reed's music was played over loudspeakers, with no speeches or eulogies. This event kicked off with the title track from Reed's 1982 album, "The Blue Mask," followed by highlights of Reed's career over the past 45 years both solo and as a member of the Velvet Underground.
