During the week of December 13, 2015, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced its inductees for 2016 in the Performers category. Congratulations go to Cheap Trick, Chicago, Deep Purple, Steve Miller, and N.W.A.

Also that week, Ray and Dave Davies of the Kinks unexpectedly reunited onstage for the first time in almost 20 years in an unannounced performance in London.

David Bowie recently released a new single titled "Lazarus" which is included on the upcoming album, "Blackstar," to be released this January. Elton John also released a new video in which he performs "Wonderful Crazy Night," the title track from his upcoming album which is due out this February. The soundtrack to the new movie, "Joy," which includes songs by Cream, Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, The Bee Gees, The Rolling Stones, and The Ronettes, is set to be released as a digital download later this month and on CD this January.

Elton John will be extending his long-term residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, and he also announced a new series of U.S. shows beginning this March. He will also be giving a special one-night-only concert for fan club members in Los Angeles this January. This March, ZZ Top will be launching its "Hell Raisers" tour which will take the band to various parts of North America. KISS and Def Leppard will be headlining the first-ever Moonstone Music Festival which is set to take place April 30-May 1, 2016 in Orlando, FL. This year's Wanee Music Festival will take place in April, with featured performers that include Gregg Allman, Hot Tuna, and founding Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann.

It was also announced that Dolly Parton's "Coat Of Many Colors" will be rebroadcast Christmas Day on NBC. Earth, Wind & Fire is among the featured performers on Pitbull's New Year's Revolution special, to be broadcast live on Fox. Sammy Hagar will host a new six-part TV series titled "Rock And Roll Road Trip" which will premiere January 24, 2016 on AMX. Also, Patti LaBelle will be presented with the Musical Arts Award at this year's BET Honors which will air February 23, 2016 on the BET network.

Finally, Michael Jackson's 1982 album, "Thriller," officially became the first LP to sell 30 million copies, adding another sales record in its many milestones.

On December 18, 2015, Darlene Love appeared on ABC's "The View" and performed her classic "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)," a longtime holiday tradition on the "Late Show With David Letterman" before his retirement in May, 2015.


December 14, 2015: Sammy Hagar To Host New TV Series On AMX

Sammy Hagar will host a new six-part TV series to premiere January 24, 2016 on AMX. Titled "Rock And Roll Road Trip," this upcoming reality show features Hager traveling to different cities across the country to interview with Alice Cooper, Heart, former members of The Grateful Dead, and other rock stars.

December 14, 2015: David Bowie Releases New 'Lazarus' Single

David Bowie recently released a new single titled "Lazarus" which is included on the upcoming album, "Blackstar," to be released on January 8, 2016 (Bowie's 69th birthday). This song is also the title track from his new stage production which opened in New York on December 7, 2015.

December 14, 2015: Elton John Releases Video And Announces New Show Dates

Elton John recently released a new video in which he performs "Wonderful Crazy Night," the title track from his upcoming album which is due out on February 5, 2016. He will be extending his long-term residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, and he also announced a new series of additional shows in the U.S. beginning on March 9, 2016 in Estero, FL and ending on March 23 in Grand Rapids, MI, with stops in Alabama, Georgia, Ohio, and Virginia.

December 14, 2015: 2016 Wanee Festival Lineup Announced

This year's Wanee Music Festival, an annual event founded by the Allman Brothers in 2005, will take place April 14-16, 2016 in Live Oak, FL. December 14, 2015: ZZ Top To Launch 'Hell Raisers' Tour

ZZ Top will be launching its "Hell Raisers" tour which will take the band to various parts of North America. This upcoming trek is currently set to begin on March 18, 2016 in Thackerville, OK and end on May 6 in Concord, NC, with additional stops in Oklahoma, as well as in Colorado, Florida, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Texas, plus Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, and Ontario, Canada. December 15, 2015: 'Joy' Movie Soundtrack To Feature Oldies Classics

The soundtrack to the upcoming movie, "Joy," will include classic songs by Cream, Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, The Bee Gees, The Rolling Stones, and The Ronettes. This collection is set to be released as a digital download on December 18, 2015 and on CD January 8, 2016. "Joy" will open in theaters on Christmas Day.

December 19, 2015: Ray And Dave Davies Reunite Onstage For Impromptu Performance

Ray and Dave Davies of the Kinks reunited onstage for the first time in almost 20 years in an unannounced and unexpected performance. This event took place on December 18, 2015 at a Dave Davies concert at London's Islington Assembly Hall where Ray joined his brother onstage to perform "You Really Got Me." For Kinks fans, it appears to be too soon to tell at this stage whether or not more reunion shows will follow.
