During the week of December 6, 2015, fans and music lovers everywhere commemorated the 100th anniversary of the birth of Frank Sinatra which took place on December 12, 1915 in Hoboken, NJ.
Also that week, the perennial TV holiday classic, "A Charlie Brown Christmas," officially turned 50 (see video below).
David Crosby will be launching a solo tour next March. Also that month, Chic and Duran Duran will begin a joint tour that will take the two bands to various parts of North America. Brian Wilson will be launching a tour dubbed "Brian Wilson Presents Pet Sounds," in which he will perform the entire album after which this trek has been named. The first show is set to take place next April, with more shows to be announced. Also, Billy Joel will be making his debut at London's Wembley Stadium next September.
Also that week, it was announced that Jimmy Buffett will be appearing on "Dick Clark’s New Year's Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2016" which will air on ABC December 31, 2015. Also, Brian Wilson's 2015 biopic, "Love & Mercy," recently received two Golden Globe Awards nominations. The awards ceremonies will take place on January 10, 2016 and will air live on NBC.
An abandoned spiritual retreat in India that The Beatles visited in 1968 has been restored and reopened to the public. It was at this famous site where the Fab Four studied Transcendental Meditation with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and penned many of the songs on their White Album.
Finally, Janis Joplin's psychedelic Porsche sold for a whopping $1,760,000 at auction.

Jimmy Buffett is among those who will be appearing on "Dick Clark’s New Year's Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2016" which will air on ABC December 31, 2015. Buffett will perform his classic hit, "Margaritaville," live from Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY just after midnight.
December 9, 2015: Indian Spiritual Retreat Visited By The Beatles To Open As Tourist Attraction
An abandoned spiritual retreat in Rishikesh, India that The Beatles visited in 1968 has been restored and reopened to the public. It was at this site where Maharishi Mahesh Yogi taught the Fab Four and many others Transcendental Meditation. It was also where The Beatles wrote dozens of songs, many of which ended up on their White Album.

December 9, 2015: Chic And Duran Duran To Launch Joint Tour
Chic and Duran Duran will be launching a joint tour this spring that will take the two bands to various parts of North America. This upcoming trek begins on March 28, 2016 in Durham, NC and ends on August 3 in Phoenix, AZ, with additional stops in North Carolina, as well as in California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, and Washington, D.C. as well in Ontario and Quebec, Canada.

Brian Wilson's critically acclaimed 2015 biopic, "Love & Mercy," recently received two Golden Globe Awards nominations. Wilson himself also received a best original song nomination for "One Kind Of Love" which he co-wrote with Scott Bennett. The awards ceremonies will take place on January 10, 2016 and will air live on NBC.
December 11, 2015: Brian Wilson To Play Entire 'Pet Sounds' Album During 2016 Tour
Brian Wilson will be launching a tour next year dubbed "Brian Wilson Presents Pet Sounds," in which he will perform the entire classic 1966 album after which this trek has been named. He will be accompanied by his backing band and special guests, Al Jardine and Blondie Chaplin. So far, three dates have been lined up starting April 29, 2016 in Austin, TX, with more shows to be added soon.
December 11, 2015: Janis Joplin's Psychedelic Porsche Sells For Over $1.7 Million At Auction
On December 10, 2015, Janis Joplin's psychedelic Porsche sold for a whopping $1,760,000 at an auction in New York City. This famous vehicle, a 1964 Porsche 356 C 1600 SC Cabriolet done up with a groovy psychedelic-themed paint job, was purchased in 1968 and driven by Joplin regularly until her passing in 1970. It had been on display at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland for the past 20 years.
December 12, 2015: December 12, 2015 Marks 100th Anniversary Of Frank Sinatra's Birth
December 12, 2015 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of the legendary Frank Sinatra which took place in 1915 in Hoboken, NJ. Through this year, this event has been celebrated with book and album releases, the HBO documentary "Sinatra: All or Nothing" which premiered last April, and an all-star Grammy tribute concert to be shown on CBS. Sinatra's numerous show business career milestones included a long string of classic hits from the 1940s through the 1980s and an Oscar for his supporting role in the 1953 movie, "From Here to Eternity." He died at age 82 on May 14, 1998.
