During the week of September 13, 2015, it was announced that Aretha Franklin will be performing for Pope Francis later this month at this year's Festival of Families in Philadelphia, PA.

Also that week, a new song recorded by Paul McCartney, Jon Bon Jovi, and many other top artists titled "Love Song To The Earth" made its debut on the Billboard Pop Digital Songs chart at no. 36.

Gloria Gaynor, Three Dog Night, and Peaches & Herb are among the many oldies bands and artists featured on the upcoming "Guardians Of The Galaxy" TV cartoon soundtrack due out this October. A new Elvis Presley album titled "If I Can Dream" will also be coming out that month. This November, an expanded version of "The Beatles 1" album will be coming out that will also include videos. Also that month, Mountain co-founder Leslie West will be releasing his 16th solo album, "Soundcheck."

Later this month, Darlene Love will be launching a tour that will take her to various parts of the U.S. and Canada. This November, Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top will be launching a tour in support of his upcoming album, "Perfectamundo." Also, The Who announced that it will be postponing its entire North American tour for the remainder of 2015 on doctor’s orders after Roger Daltrey was diagnosed with viral meningitis.

Also that week, it was announced that Johnny Cash and Steve Cropper of Booker T & the MG's are among those who will be honored with a star on Nashville's Music City Walk of Fame this October. Also that month, John Fogerty will be promoting his new memoir, "Fortunate Son," in a series of interviews that will take place in New York City and Los Angeles.

Finally, fans bade a final farewell to Gary Richrath who served as the lead guitarist for REO Speedwagon from 1970-1989 and wrote many of this band's songs.

Aretha Franklin is among those who will be performing at an outdoor festival for Pope Francis on his second-to-last day of his first-ever visit to the U.S. This event will take place on September 26, 2015 at this year's Festival of Families in Philadelphia, PA.

September 14, 2015: Gary Richrath Of REO Speedwagon Passes Away

Singer, songwriter, and guitarist Gary Richrath died on September 13, 2015 at age 65. He served as the lead guitarist for REO Speedwagon from 1970-1989. He wrote many of this band's songs, including "Ridin' The Storm Out," (1973), "Only The Strong Survive" (1979), and the Top 10 hit, "Take It On The Run" (1981). He also sang on "Find My Fortune" (1973), "Wild As The Western Wind" (1974) and "(Only A) Summer Love" (1976). Afterwards, Richrath began recording solo and, in 1992, he released the album, "Only The Strong Survive." In 2013, he performed in an REO Speedwagon benefit concert to raise money for those affected by the tornado in central Illinois.

September 14, 2015: Peter Frampton And Other Classic Rockers To Appear On New Leslie West Album

On November 20, 2015, Mountain co-founder Leslie West will be releasing "Soundcheck," his 16th solo album to date. Highlights include covers of such classics as Ben E. King's "Stand By Me," The Beatles' "Eleanor Rigby," and Curtis Mayfield's "People Get Ready." Peter Frampton, Brian May, Jack Bruce, and Bonnie Bramlett are among the featured artists.

September 15, 2015: Expanded Version 'Beatles 1' Compilation To Be Reissued

An expanded version of "The Beatles 1" will be coming out on November 6, 2015. Originally released in 2000, this collection gathers together all the top charting songs of The Fab Four released in the U.S. and the U.K. In addition to all The Beatles' #1 songs, the expanded version will also include videos, promotional films, footage from TV and concerts, and other rare and previously-unseen archival material. This new collection will be available on CD/DVD, CD/Blu-ray, and as a Deluxe Edition package.

September 15, 2015: Elvis Presley Album With New Duet To Be Released

September 16, 2015: Billy Gibbons Of ZZ Top To Launch Tour

Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top will soon be launching a tour in support of his upcoming album, "Perfectamundo." His 25-date trek begins on November 10, 2015 in Atlanta, GA and ends on December 13 in Seattle, WA, with additional stops in Washington State, as well as in California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, D.C., and Wisconsin. Afterwards, Gibbons will perform at the Havana Jazz Festival in Cuba.

September 18, 2015: The Who To Postpone North American Tour On Doctor’s Orders

The Who announced that it will be postponing its entire North American tour for the remainder of 2015 on doctor’s orders after Roger Daltrey was diagnosed with viral meningitis. The band is rescheduling all its shows for next spring, which is expected to give time for Daltrey to fully recover. The newly-rescheduled shows will be announced soon.

September 18, 2015: Johnny Cash, Steve Cropper To Receive Stars On Nashville's Music City Walk

The late and great Johnny Cash and Steve Cropper of Booker T & the MG's are among those who will be honored with a star on Nashville's Music City Walk of Fame. The induction ceremony will take place October 6, 2015 at Walk of Fame Park. Established in 2006, the Music City Walk of Fame is located on Nashville's Music Mile which connects downtown Nashville to Music Row.

September 19, 2015: John Fogerty To Be Interviewed About New Memoir

This October, John Fogerty will be promoting his new memoir in a series of interviews that will take place in New York City and Los Angeles. Titled "Fortunate Son," this memoir, which is due out on October 6, 2015, covers Fogerty's life from his childhood through his days with CCR and his later emergence as a solo artist.

September 19, 2015: New Single Featuring Paul McCartney & Others Makes Chart Debut

A new song about the topic of climate change recorded by Paul McCartney, Jon Bon Jovi, and many other top artists titled "Love Song To The Earth" made its debut on the Billboard Pop Digital Songs chart at #36. Proceeds from sales of this song go to the Friends of the Earth and the U.N. Foundation.
