During the week of November 20, 2016, Aretha Franklin dazzled CBS viewers with her over-four minute rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the Minnesota Vikings vs. Detroit Lions NFL game which took place on Thanksgiving Day (see video below).

The 2017 edition of the Malt Shop Memories Cruise sets sail next November from Fort Lauderdale, FL, with The Beach Boys, Dion, Brenda Lee, The Righteous Brothers, and The Vogues among the many featured acts. Also, Bad Company has been added to the lineup for the upcoming Rock Legends Cruise VI which sets sail in February 2018.

Two Jimmy Buffett albums have just been reissued on vinyl for the first time in decades: "Songs You Know By Heart" (1985) and "A1A" (1974). Also, The Grateful Dead will launch an extensive reissue campaign to celebrate the 50th anniversary of each original album release starting next January with the band's 1967 self-titled debut album.

Also that week, it was announced that a new series of rock-themed holiday movies titled "Not So Silent Nights" will be shown each night on HDNET MOVIES the week of December 5-11, 2016. Janis Joplin, Bob Marley, KISS, Elvis Presley, Prince, Roger Waters, and The Who are among the featured bands and artists.

November 21, 2016: Grateful Dead To Launch 50th Anniversary Album Reissue Campaign

The Grateful Dead will soon launch an extensive reissue campaign on both CD and vinyl to celebrate the 50th anniversary of each of the band's original album releases. This campaign will kick off on January 20, 2017 with the reissue of the band's 1967 self-titled debut album, the CD version of which will also include a number of previously unreleased songs from the band's shows in 1966 at the P.N.E. Garden Auditorium in Vancouver, Canada. Starting March 1, the band will also begin releasing vinyl versions of its 27 singles through Dead.net.

A new series of rock-themed holiday movies titled "Not So Silent Nights" will be shown each night on HDNET MOVIES the week of December 5-11, 2016. Janis Joplin, Bob Marley, KISS, Elvis Presley, Prince, Roger Waters, and The Who are among the featured bands and artists in this series, to be hosted by Tommy Shaw of Styx. November 22, 2016: Classic Jimmy Buffett Albums Reissued On Vinyl

Two classic Jimmy Buffett albums have just been reissued on vinyl for the first time in decades: "Songs You Know By Heart" (1985) and "A1A" (1974). "Songs You Know By Heart" is a hugely popular compilation album that includes such hits as "Cheeseburger In Paradise," "Come Monday," and "Margaritaville." "A1A," which reached #25 on the Billboard 200, includes the popular "A Pirate Looks At Forty."

November 26, 2016: Aretha Franklin Performs Long Version Of National Anthem At Thanksgiving Day Football Game

Queen Of Soul Aretha Franklin belted out a heartfelt and lengthy performance of "The Star-Spangled Banner" as an opener to the Minnesota Vikings vs. Detroit Lions NFL game on Thanksgiving Day (November 24, 2016). Her performance of the National Anthem clocked in at 4 minutes and 35 seconds, as noted by CBS, which is well over two minutes longer than all other past performances in recent memory. Numerous fans and other observers took to Twitter to comment on Franklin's rendition.
