ABOUT

Carl Carlton (b. 1953) is a highly acclaimed and veteran R&B/soul/funk singer and songwriter from Detroit, Michigan who became famous beginning in the late 1960s while still in his mid teens (as "Little Carl Carlton"). Best known for the funky Grammy-nominated dance smash, "She's A Bad Mama Jama (She's Built, She's Stacked)" (1981), he had his greatest Pop/Rock crossover success in 1974 with his upbeat Top 10 disco remake of Robert Knight's "Everlasting Love." Carlton began recording gospel music in 2010 and has continued to perform actively to the present day.
