The Chimes - Songs

ABOUT

The Chimes were a doo-wop group from Brooklyn, New York that became famous during the early 1960s. Their best known songs, "Once In Awhile" (1960) and "I'm In The Mood For Love" (1961), are both Top 40 hit remakes of 1930s pop standards.

Formed in the mid 1950s, the original lineup consisted of Joseph Croce (baritone), Pat DePrisco (first tenor), Pat McGuire (bass), Richard Mercado (second tenor), and lead singer Lenny Cocco (ca. 1936 - May 8, 2015). After disbanding in 1964, The Chimes later reformed as Lenny Cocco & The Chimes and continued to tour and perform actively for the doo-wop revival circuit up to Cocco's passing in 2015.
