Country Joe & The Fish were an influential San Francisco-area psychedelic rock band with counterculture leanings that became famous during the late 1960s. Their best known songs include the 1967 hit, "Not So Sweet Martha Lorraine." Key members included founders Country Joe McDonald and Barry "The Fish" Melton who co-wrote much of the band's songs that covered such topics as anti-war protests, free love, and recreational drug use.
