Kenny Burrell

Kenny Burrell (b. July 31, 1931) is a veteran jazz guitarist, prolific recording artist, and educator who can be heard on recordings by such artists as Jimmy Smith and Kai Winding. As a solo performer, he is best known for his hit instrumental cover of "Little Drummer Boy" (1967), a holiday classic originally made famous by the Harry Simeone Chorale. A longtime professor at UCLA, Burrell is the Director of Jazz Studies at the university's Herb Alpert School of Music.
