Meri Wilson (June 15, 1949 - December 28, 2002) was a singer-songwriter and model who became famous during the late 1970s. She is best known for the frisky "Telephone Man" (1977), a self-penned novelty tune with breathy vocals and suggestive lyrics which made the Top 20 and soon after went gold. Born into a musical family, Wilson earned a bachelors in music at Indiana University and a masters in music education at Georgia State University.
