Sylvester James Jr. (September 6, 1947 - December 16, 1988), known professionally as Sylvester, was an R&B/disco singer-songwriter with distinctive falsetto vocals who became famous during the late 1970s and 1980s. His many hits included the 1978 smash, "Dance (Disco Heat)."
