Tommy Dorsey (November 19, 1905 - November 26, 1956) was a renowned jazz trombonist, composer, conductor, and bandleader with a smooth style who became famous beginning in the late 1920s as one of the Dorsey Brothers with his brother Jimmy. Along with his theme song, "I'm Getting Sentimental Over You" (1936), other signature songs include his smash renditions of such standards as Marie" (1937) and "Opus No. 1" (1945).
