GENE MCDANIELS - Songs

Soul singer-songwriter. Gene McDaniels' best known songs include "A Hundred Pounds Of Clay" (1961), "Tower Of Strength" (1961), and "Chip Chip" (1962), with backing vocals provided by the Johnny Mann Singers. In later years, McDaniels recorded as Eugene McDaniels and as Universal Jones (for the 1972 song "River"). Songwriting highlights include "Feel Like Makin' Love" made famous by Roberta Flack.
