Born Florencia Bisenta de Casillas Martinez Cardona in El Paso, TX, Vikki Carr had her first chart hit in 1962 with "He's A Rebel" (also made famous by the Crystals) which reached #5 in Australia and #115 in the US. Oldies music fans remember her best for "It Must Be Him" (1967), "The Lesson" (1968), and "With Pen In Hand" (1969), and her hits on the Pop/Rock and Adult Contemporary charts also included "I'll be Home" (1971), "The Big Hurt" (1972), and "Wind Me Up" (1975). Carr then went on to become a Latin music superstar with a huge international following as well, especially in the US, Latin America, Asia and Europe.
