The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame just announced that the Blue Caps, the Comets, the Crickets, the Famous Flames, the Midnighters and the Miracles will be inducted on April 14, 2012 in Cleveland, OH at the 27th Annual Inductions Ceremony. The original lead singers for the six groups, all long-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees, were, respectively, Gene Vincent, Bill Haley, Buddy Holly, James Brown, Hank Ballard, and Smokey Robinson. These groups will be included along with the other previously announced inductees for 2012 which include Donovan, The Small Faces, and other old familiar favorites.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame decided to add these groups to the 2012 roster after a committee review in which it was determined that they should be recognized along with the previously inducted lead singers. This year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be televised on HBO in May, 2012. Congratulations go to these newest inductees.
