May 23, 2021 by Amy Gold

During the week of May 16, 2021, Alice Cooper, George Clinton & The Parliament-Funkadelic, and Roger Daltrey of The Who became among a growing number of veteran artists to announce their return to the stage for the first time since the onset of the pandemic. With former KISS guitarist Ace Frehley, Cooper will launch a joint U.S. tour kicking off September 17 in Atlantic City, NJ. Clinton will give a series of concerts beginning June 25 in New Haven, CT, and Daltrey also has several shows lined up starting August 21 in Stateline, NV. The Zombies will give a concert from London's Abbey Road Studios covering both classic hits and brand new songs to be streamed live worldwide on September 18, 2021 from Veeps.com. The band's current lineup includes original members Rod Argent and Colin Blunstone.

Also, the week of May 16, 2021 marks the 50th anniversary of the original release of two classic albums: Paul & Linda McCartney's "Ram" and Marvin Gay's "What's Going On." "Ram," which peaked at #2 on the Billboard 200, includes the chart-topping "Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey," and the album's recording sessions also yielded the single, "Another Day," a Top 5 hit. "What's Going On," which also reached #2 on the Billboard 200, includes such socially-conscious classics as "Mercy Mercy Me (The Ecology)," "Inner City Blues (Make Me Wanna Holler)," and the album's chart-topping title song.
