38 Special (a.k.a. .38 Special) is a veteran rock band from JacksonVille, FL that became famous during the 1980s. Formed in 1974 by neighborhood friends Don Barnes and Donnie Van Zant (the younger brother of Lynyrd Skynyrd founder Ronnie), the band has had many lineup changes since its founding.
