Elmer Bernstein (April 4, 1922 - August 18, 2004) was a famed prolific composer of music scores who became famous beginning in the 1950s. He made a splash on the Pop/Rock charts with his Top 20 hit rendition of "'Main Title' From 'The Man With The Golden Arm'" (1956), the title song to the movie starring Frank Sinatra. Bernstein wrote the music for over 200 films and TV shows, including "The Magnificent Seven," "The Ten Commandments," and "Ghostbusters."
