Hal Derwin (July 14, 1914 - February 9, 1998) was a pop singer and bandleader from Chicago with a distinctive baritone who became famous during the 1940s. He is best known for his Top 5 hit cover of the pop standard, "The Old Lamplighter" (1946). In the early 1950s, his band had a residency at the Biltmore Bowl in Los Angeles for six years and his shows were broadcast on NBC Radio.
