The Statues were a doo-wop trio from Nashville, TN consisting of James E. "Buzz" Cason (a.k.a. Garry Miles), Hugh Jarrett, and Richard Williams. This group is best remembered for an early version of "Blue Velvet" (1960), a song later made famous by Bobby Vinton.
