Joseph Matthews "Wingy" Manone (February 13, 1900 - July 9, 1982) was a highly acclaimed jazz trumpeter, composer, singer, and bandleader who became famous during the late 1930s. Best known for such hits as "Please Believe Me" (1936), "Nickel In The Slot" (1936), and "The Flat Foot Floogie" (1938), he resurfaced on the Pop/Rock charts many years later with his hit cover of the early rock & roll oldies classic, "Party Doll" (1957) as made famous by Buddy Knox. He was nicknamed "Wingy" after losing his right arm in a streetcar accident when he was ten years old.
