ABOUT
Christie is a veteran English rock band that became famous during the early 1970s. They are best known for the rollicking "Yellow River" (1970), which became a U.S. Top 40 hit and topped the charts in the U.K. and numerous other countries worldwide.
Formed in 1965 by lead singer/bassist Jeff Christie, who wrote "Yellow River," the original lineup also consisted of Vic Elmes (guitar) and Mike Blakley (drums), with a number of personnel changes over the years. Christie has continued to perform and record to the present day, and namesake/founder Jeff Christie remains the band's only original member.
