ABOUT
Dan Fogelberg (August 13, 1951 - December 16, 2007) was a highly acclaimed singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist with a tender, emotional style who became famous during the mid 1970s and early 1980s. He is best known for such soft rock classics as "Longer" (1979), "Same Old Lang Syne" (1980), "Hard To Say" (1981), and "Leader Of The Band" (1981).
Born Daniel Grayling Fogelberg in Peoria, Illinois into a musical family, he began performing and writing songs in his teens. While attending the University of Illinois as an art student, he performed at local coffeehouses and was discovered by record mogul Irving Azoff, who became his manager. During the early 1970s, Fogelberg was an opening act for Van Morrison at many of his concerts. Over the years, he released numerous albums, eight of which went platinum, and he was inducted into the Colorado Music Hall of Fame (2017).
