ABOUT
Donovan Phillips Leitch (b. 1946), better known professionally as Donovan, is a highly acclaimed and veteran Scottish singer-songwriter and guitarist with a unique mix of folk, pop, rock, and psychedelia who became famous beginning in the mid 1960s as part of the British Invasion. He is best known for the chart-topping psychedelic pop classic, "Sunshine Superman" (1966), which went on to become a million-seller. Other top hits include the whimsical "Mellow Yellow" (1966), another million-seller which became his signature song in the U.S., and the mystical, Eastern-influenced "Hurdy Gurdy Man" (1968), the latter of which he wrote while in Rishikesh, India where he was studying Transcendental Meditation with The Beatles.
Donovan's numerous honors and accolades over the years include being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2012. He has continued to perform and record actively to the present day.
