ABOUT

The Drifters are a renowned and veteran R&B/soul/doo-wop group with a long history and many lineup changes over the years that became famous beginning in the early 1950s. Their many signature songs include such oldies classics as "There Goes My Baby" (1959), "Dance With Me" (1959), "Save The Last Dance For Me" (1960), "Up On The Roof" (1962), "On Broadway" (1963), and "Under The Boardwalk" (1964).

Formed in 1953 in New York City, key members included Clyde McPhatter, Ben E. King, Rudy Lewis, and Johnny Moore who all served as lead singers at various times. The Drifters' numerous honors and accolades include being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1988.
