Earth, Wind & Fire is a highly acclaimed and veteran multi-membered R&B group with a dynamic sound blending elements of funk, soul, jazz, pop, and R&B that became famous beginning in the 1970s. They are best known for such classics as the funky and anthemic "Shining Star" (1975), the uplifting "Sing A Song" (1975), the vibrant "September" (1978), the high-energy and pulsating "Boogie Wonderland" (1979), the poignant and soulful "After The Love Has Gone" (1979), and the infectious "Let's Groove" (1981).

Formed in Chicago, Illinois in 1969 by famed singer, songwriter, musician, and producer Maurice White (December 19, 1941 - February 4, 2016), the classic hitmaking lineup also included Maurice's brother Verdine White (bass, percussion, vocals) along with co-lead singer Philip Bailey and Larry Dunn (keyboards, synthesizers, musical director), Johnny Graham (lead/rhythm guitar, trumpet, percussion), Ralph Johnson (drums, percussion, vocals), Al McKay (lead/rhythm guitar, sitar, percussion, vocals), and Andrew Woolfolk (flute, saxophone, percussion), with many personnel changes and additions over the years. As one of the top-selling bands of all time, Earth, Wind & Fire's numerous honors and accolades include being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2000.
