ABOUT
The Innocence was a pop singer, songwriter, and producer duo from Providence, Rhode Island consisting of Peter Anders (April 28, 1941 - March 24, 2016) and Vini Poncia that became famous during the 1960s. As a duo, Anders and Poncia also recorded as The Trade Winds (of "New York's A Lonely Town" fame), and they were both also members of The Videls. As The Innocence, they are best known for the Top 40 smash, "There's Got To Be A Word!" (1966). The Innocence also had a minor hit with "Mairzy Doats" (1967).
