The Isley Brothers - Songs

ABOUT

The Isley Brothers are a highly acclaimed and veteran R&B/soul/funk group with a great deal of crossover appeal that became famous during the 1960s and 1970s. Their many signature songs include "Twist And Shout" (1962), "This Old Heart Of Mine (Is Weak For You)" (1966), "It's Your Thing" (1969), "That Lady (Part 1)" (1973), and "Fight The Power Part 1" (1975).

Formed in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1954, they began as a trio consisting of Ronald (b. 1941), Rudolph (April 1, 1939 - October 11, 2023), and O'Kelly Isley Jr. (December 25, 1937 - March 31, 1986), with a number of personnel changes and additions over the years. Their fame took off in 1959 with "Shout," a million-seller that was followed by a very long string of hits on both the R&B and Pop/Rock charts that continued into the 21st century. A top selling group with over 18 million records sold to date, they are the only act to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 with new music across six decades. They have continued to perform and record actively to the present day, with a current lineup consisting of original member Ronald Isley and younger brother Ernie.

The Isley Brothers were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (1992) and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame (2003). Their numerous honors and accolades also include the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award (2014) and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (2026).
