ABOUT
Jonathan Edwards (b. 1946) is a veteran country and folk singer-songwriter with soulful vocals who became famous during the early 1970s. He is best known for the melodic and enigmatic "Sunshine" (1971), a self-penned Vietnam War-era folk rock classic about being free and questioning authority.
Born John Evan Edwards in Aitkin, Minnesota, he later moved to Boston, Massachusetts and performed at clubs throughout the New England area during the late 1960s. He signed with Capricorn Records in 1971 and released his eponymous debut album that same year. He has continued to perform and record actively to the present day.
