The Music Explosion - Songs

ABOUT

The Music Explosion was a garage rock band that became famous during the late 1960s. Best known for the infectious Top 5 smash, "Little Bit O' Soul" (1967), which features a memorable opening bass guitar lick, other hits include "Sunshine Games" (1967).

Formed in 1966 in Mansfield, Ohio, the original lineup consisted of Don Atkins (guitar), Bob Avery (drums), Rick Nesta (guitar), bassist Burton Stahl (October 31, 1947 - April 27, 2023), and lead singer Jamie Lyons (January 31, 1949 - September 25, 2006), with some personnel changes. They were discovered by the bubblegum hitmaking duo, Jerry Kasenetz and Jeffry Katz, and signed with Laurie Records. At the height of their commercial fame, The Music Explosion toured actively with The Easybeats, The Left Banke, and other then-popular acts. Lead singer Jamie Lyons also recorded several solo singles on Laurie while a member of the group.
