Tommy James And The Shondells - Songs

ABOUT

Tommy James & The Shondells were a hugely popular rock band with a flair for garage rock, bubblegum pop, psychedelia, and soul that became famous during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Best known for the naughty "Hanky Panky" (1966) and the ethereal "Crimson And Clover" (1968), which both topped the charts, the band's long string of hits also includes such era-defining classics as "I Think We're Alone Now" (1967), "Mirage" (1967), "Mony Mony" (1968), "Sweet Cherry Wine" (1969), and "Crystal Blue Persuasion" (1969).

Formed in 1964 in Niles, Michigan, the classic hitmaking lineup consisted of lead singer Tommy James with Eddie Gray (guitar), Peter Lucia (drums), Ron Rosman (keyboards), and Mike Vale (bass). Tommy James went solo in 1970, and the remaining Shondells group members went on to record as Hog Heaven. James' best known solo songs include the Top 5 smash, "Draggin' The Line" (1971), and "Three Times In Love" (1980), the latter of which topped the Adult Contemporary chart. In the mid 1980s, he began touring with other acts from the 1960s sometimes billed as Tommy James & The Shondells, although he is the band's only original member.

Tommy James & The Shondells were inducted into the Michigan Rock & Roll Legends Hall of Fame in 2008.
