Tommy James and the Shondells had many hits in the late 1960s that included "Hanky Panky" (1966), "Mony Mony" (1968), "Crimson and Clover" (1969), and "Crystal Blue Persuasion" (1969). Band leader Tommy James went solo in 1971 and the remaining group members went on to record as Hog Heaven. Tommy James' best known solo songs include "Draggin' The Line" (1971) and "Three Times In Love" (1980).
