Tony Burrows (b. April 14, 1942) is a veteran English pop/bubblegum singer and songwriter who was a member of The Pipkins and the lead vocalist of The Brotherhood Of Man, Edison Lighthouse, First Class, and White Plains. As a solo artist, he is best known for the sweet and catchy "Melanie Makes Me Smile" (1970). Burrows has continued to the present day as a highly sought-after session singer, providing backup for such artists as Elton John, Cliff Richard, and James Last. He was honored in 2011 by the Ivors Academy (formerly BASCA) with a Gold Badge Award for his contributions to music.
