ABOUT
Tony Orlando is a pop singer who became famous in the 1970s as the lead singer of the group, Tony Orlando and Dawn. Dawn members consisted of Telma Hopkins and Joyce Vincent. Prior to forming Dawn, Orlando, while still in his teens, had three solo pop hits in 1961, "Halfway To Paradise," "Bless You," and "Happy Times (Are Here To Stay)." In 1969, he had one more hit with "Make Believe," which he recorded as lead singer with the studio group, Wind.
In 1970, Tony Orlando and Dawn debuted on the charts with "Candida," which peaked at #3. This song was followed by a string of hits through 1979 that included the chart-topping "Knock Three Times" (1971), "Tie A Yellow Ribbon Round The Ole Oak Tree" (1973), and "He Don't Love You (Like I Love You)" (1975). Tony Orlando had one last solo chart hit in 1979 with "Sweets For My Sweet."
From 1974 to 1976, Tony Orlando with Dawn hosted a variety program, "The Tony Orlando and Dawn Show."
