Find Your Favorite Oldies Music Here

For songs that are so old that their first release was on vinyl, finding CD recordings can be a challenge, especially for lesser known bands and artists. For really obscure songs, even finding an old vinyl recording (much less a new or used CD) can seem next to impossible.

allbutforgottenoldies.net provides information to help you locate high quality oldies music CDs and other recordings by song title. To assist you in your search, we maintain an ever-expanding database of links to song clips from 1960-1975. Browsing through our extensive song lists can be especially helpful if you are not quite sure what you are looking for and need something to jog your memory. This website also has many tips and resources of interest to oldies music collectors and other music hobbyists which we created in response to visitor feedback.

allbutforgottenoldies.net has been dubbed by deejay Mike Sain of WPON-AM 1460 Detroit as "the music website used most by radio people and radio listeners in the know." Since we first went online, we have helped thousands of people in all aspects of oldies music collecting - everything from locating out-of-print CDs to finding sheet music to naming some long-forgotten tune from half-remembered song fragments (the latter being, by far, our #1 FAQ.) We hope our website will assist you in finally tracking down that long-lost tune you have been seeking for so long.

This website was launched on October 14, 2000.

DEAR AMY,

WASN'T ABLE TO WRITE TO YOU ON YOUR SITE, BUT I WANTED YOU TO KNOW HOW MUCH I LOVE YOUR SITE. I GO THERE QUITE OFTEN TO LOOK THINGS UP. THANKS FOR ALL THE HARD WORK. I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO HEAR YOUR INTERVIEW WITH VIKKI CARR LAST YEAR, AND FROM THEN ON, I KNEW YOU WERE FIRST CLASS.

THANKS AGAIN.

PATTY W.

Email to webmaster Amy Gold from Robin J. (Feb. 24, 2008):

I actually had an "all but forgotten" moment a couple months ago while listening to a "Casey's Coast-To-Coast/American Top 40" program from 1971. If not for hearing "Games" by Redeye again for the first time in well over 35 years, I really would have forgotten about it--and I'm the one who's known for remembering the more "obscure" pop hits!

Listeners can hear clip at http://www.amazon.com/Super-Hits-70s-Have-Nice/dp/B0000032RD, and I think it's available for download at iTunes. The band's (very short) Wikipedia article is at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Redeye_(band).

Your website ROCKS.

Sincerely,

Robin J.

Email to webmaster Amy Gold from Mike Sain, WPON-AM 1460 Detroit (July 5, 2006):

Dear Amy,

Thank you so much for all the help you give me every week in support of "The Insane World Of Mike Sain." Your tidbits of information for each of the songs in my playlists have really become an integral part of my show. I just got a chance to check the webpage you put up on your website for this morning's show and all I can say is wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also, your suggestion for next week's spy songs theme is a super idea. It should be fun!

Again, thanks for being my right hand!

Mike Sain
