During the week of November 17, 2013, both Elvis Presley and the Beatles charted on the Billboard 200 for the first time in many years. The King of Rock and Roll, who holds the record for the number of albums on this chart, extended his record with "Merry Christmas ... Love, Elvis." The Fab Four charted their 31st Top 10 album with "On Air - Live at the BBC Volume 2."
Also that week, it was announced that Roy Orbison will be honored by the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum with the first-ever Iconic Riff Award for the catchy opening of his signature song, "Pretty Woman."
A music video of the Beatles' performance of the Buddy Holly song, "Words of Love," has just been released (see below). Also, Bob Dylan just released a new music video of his 1965 hit, "Like A Rolling Stone." For this year's Record Store Day's Black Friday, the Rolling Stones will be re-releasing on vinyl the band's 1965 EP, "Got Live If You Want It!." Also, Carlos Santana will soon be releasing his first Spanish language album, "Corazon."
This January, Billy Joel will be performing at New York's Madison Square Garden. The Rolling Stones announced that they will be performing in Australia starting in March, 2014. Also, Aerosmith announced a new leg to the band's "Global Warming" tour which will begin in May, 2014.
Finally, Paul Simon will be appearing this December with Stephen Sondheim and Michael Chabon at the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York City where they will participate in a roundtable discussion on the topic of words and music.
November 18, 2013: Bob Dylan Releases New Music Video
Bob Dylan just released a new music video of his classic 1965 hit, "Like A Rolling Stone." This interactive video, which is on Bob Dylan's official website, allows the viewer to switch between 16 different story lines that mimic TV channels. The actors and hosts on each channel are shown lip-synching to the song's lyrics, and vintage footage is also interspersed throughout.
November 18, 2013: Roy Orbison To Receive Iconic Riff Award
It was announced that the late and great Roy Orbison will be honored by the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum with the first-ever Iconic Riff Award for the catchy opening of his signature song, "Pretty Woman." This classic oldies hit, which was co-written by Roy Orbison and Bill Dees, topped both the UK and Billboard Hot 100 charts in 1964 and was used as the title song for the 1990 movie, "Pretty Woman."

November 18, 2013: Paul Simon To Appear With Stephen Sondheim And Michael Chabon
On December 3, 2013, Paul Simon will be appearing at the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York City with famed composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim and Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist Michael Chabon. Chabon will be hosting a roundtable discussion between himself, Simon, and Sondheim on the topic of words and music.

November 19, 2013: Billy Joel To Perform At Madison Square Garden In January
On January 27, Billy Joel will be performing at New York's Madison Square Garden. Tickets to this show go on sale November 23, 2013. Joel is also set to perform at Brooklyn's Barclays Center on New Year's Eve, and he will also be giving four shows in Florida this January.

November 20, 2013: Aerosmith To Extend 'Global Warming' Tour
Aerosmith announced a new leg to the band's "Global Warming" tour which will begin on May 24, 2014 in Moscow, Russia and end on June 25 in Milan, Italy. Other stops will include St Petersburg, Russia; Stockholm, Sweden; Kristiansand, Norway; Horsens, Denmark; Berlin, Germany; Derby, UK and Oberhausen, Germany. So far, nine shows have been scheduled, with more likely to be added.

November 20, 2013: Rolling Stones To Tour In Australia
The Rolling Stones announced that they will be performing in Australia next year starting March 22, 2014 in Adelaide. The band's former guitarist, Mick Taylor, will also be a guest performer. Tickets for the show in Adelaide go on sale to the general public November 25, 2013, with a pre-sale to begin November 21. Other shows in Australia and New Zealand are expected to be announced within the next few weeks.

November 20, 2013: Carlos Santana To Release First Spanish Album
Carlos Santana will soon be releasing his first Spanish language album, "Corazon." This album, which is expected sometime next March, will feature Gloria Estefan, Ziggy Marley, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Juanes, and other guest artists. Also, Santana will be filming a live concert in Guadalajara, Mexico on December 14, 2013, in which many of this album's guest artists will also perform. The DVD for this concert is expected later on this year.

The Fab Four charted their 31st Top 10 this week with "On Air - Live at the BBC Volume 2," a collection of live-in-the-studio performances from 1962-1965, which reached #7.

November 21, 2013: Rolling Stones To Re-release 1965 EP On Record Store Day's Black Friday
For this year's Record Store Day's Black Friday, the Rolling Stones will be re-releasing on vinyl the band's 1965 EP, "Got Live If You Want It!." This EP, originally recorded in March, 1965, includes "I'm Alright," "We Want the Stones," "Pain in My Heart" and "I'm Moving On," and covers of Nat King Cole's "Route 66" and Solomon Burke's "Everybody Needs Somebody to Love."

November 21, 2013: New Beatles Music Video Released
An animated music video of the Beatles' performance of the classic Buddy Holly song, "Words of Love," has just been released. This song, which was recorded on July 16, 1963 at the BBC Paris Theatre in London, is included on the Fab Four's latest album, "On Air - Live at the BBC Volume 2." The video features early Beatles footage interspersed with animation.
