During the week of November 24, 2013, a new Elvis Presley exhibit opened at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Among the many items on display is the white "If I Can Dream" suit Presley wore during his 1968 NBC Comeback Special (see video below).

Also that week, it was announced that plans are underway to renovate the historic Muscle Shoals Sound Studio in Sheffield, AL where Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett, the Rolling Stones, Etta James, and other top bands and artists made many of their most famous recordings.

Carlos Santana just released on iTunes a new song from his upcoming album, "Corazon." Eric Clapton also just released a song from his upcoming box set, "Give Me Strength: The 74/75 Recordings." A compilation album to raise funds for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines has just been released that includes songs by the Beatles, Earth, Wind & Fire, Bob Dylan, and Cher. Also, Bruce Springsteen and Michael Nesmith will soon be releasing new albums.

This December, Styx and REO Speedwagon will be headlining a benefit concert for Illinois tornado victims. A duet by David Bowie and Kristen Wiig of "Space Oddity" is to be a part of the soundtrack for the upcoming movie, "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty." Also, Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart will be hosting a Christmas special which will be shown on AXS on Christmas Day.

November 24, 2013: Heart To Air Christmas Concert TV Special

Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart will be hosting a Christmas special, "Heart & Friends: Home for the Holidays," which will be shown on AXS December 25, 2013. This show will be broadcast live from the Benaroya Symphony Concert Hall in Seattle. Featured performers will include Sammy Hagar, Shawn Colvin, Richard Marx and Pat Monahan from Train.

November 24, 2013: Carlos Santana Releases New Song From Upcoming Album

Carlos Santana just released on iTunes a new song, "La Flaca," from his upcoming album, "Corazon." This album, which is due in early 2014, features many guest artists that include Gloria Estefan, Ziggy Marley, and Los Fabulosos Cadillacs. A live concert in Guadalajara will be taking place December 14, 2013, and an accompanying concert DVD is expected later this year.

November 24, 2013: Styx And REO Speedwagon To Headline Benefit Concert

Styx and REO Speedwagon will be headlining a benefit concert for Illinois tornado victims, "Rock to the Rescue Extends a Hand to Those in Need." This concert will take place on December 4, 2014 at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington, IL. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.

November 25, 2013: Bruce Springsteen To Release New Album

On January 14, 2014, Bruce Springsteen will be releasing a new album titled "High Hopes." This album is a melange of various covers, studio outtakes and re-recorded original songs from the past 10-20 years. Highlights include "The Ghost of Tom Joad," "American Skin (41 Shots)" and "The Wall," plus a cover of "Dream Baby Dream" which was first recorded in 1979 by the New York punk band Suicide.

November 26, 2013: Benefit Album For Philippines Benefit With Beatles Tracks Released

A compilation album to raise funds for the over 5,000 victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines has just been released on iTunes. Among the 39 tracks on "Songs for the Philippines" are "Shelter From the Storm" by Bob Dylan, "Sirens" by Cher, "Sign On" by Earth, Wind & Fire, and "Across the Universe" and "Let It Be" by the Beatles.

November 26, 2013: David Bowie And Kristen Wiig Duet In Upcoming Movie

A duet by David Bowie and Kristen Wiig of "Space Oddity" is to be a part of the soundtrack for the upcoming movie, "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty," co-starring Ben Stiller, Sean Penn, Adam Scott, and Shirley MacLaine. Wiig separately recorded this song which was then overlaid with Bowie's original vocal track. "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" opens in theaters this December.

November 26, 2013: Beats Electronics Revives Muscle Shoals Studio

Plans are underway to renovate the historic Muscle Shoals Sound Studio in Sheffield, AL where Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett, the Rolling Stones, Paul Simon, Bob Dylan, Otis Redding, Etta James, and other top bands and artists made many of their most famous recordings. This project will be carried out in partnership with the Muscle Shoals Music Foundation by Beats Electronics, a producer of audio products and equipment co-founded by rapper Dr. Dre. The original Muscle Shoals Sound Studios building, located at 3614 Jackson Highway, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Along with upgrading its recording facilities, Beats Electronics will also back an education program for those wanting to learn how to record at both Muscle Shoals Sound and FAME studios.

November 26, 2013: Eric Clapton Releases Song From Upcoming Album

Eric Clapton just released "Boogie Funk," a song from his upcoming box set, "Give Me Strength: The 74/75 Recordings." This box set, which will come out on December 9, 2014 on both vinyl and CD, features 88 recordings from April 1974 to June 1975 that include session outtakes from Clapton's studio albums, "461 Ocean Boulevard" and "There's One In Every Crowd," and his live album "E.C. Was Here." Also included are a 60-page book with liner notes and rare photos, plus a new 5.1 Surround Sound mix of "461 Ocean Boulevard" and original quadraphonic mixes of "461 Ocean Boulevard" and "There's One In Every Crowd."

November 29, 2013: Elvis Presley Memorabilia Featured At Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame

A new exhibit of Elvis Presley memorabilia opens on November 29, 2013 at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum's Main Exhibit Hall in Cleveland, OH. Items on display include jewelry, Army souvenirs, a 1975 custom-made "SuperTrike" motorcycle, the white "If I Can Dream" suit Presley wore during his 1968 NBC Comeback Special, and over 40 mementos on loan from Graceland that tell the story of his rise to fame as the King of Rock and Roll.
