During the week of September 8, 2013, it was announced that a second box set of live performances by the Beatles on the BBC from 1962-1965 is scheduled for release this November (see video below for a preview). This long-awaited collection, which is the sequel to Volume 1 released in 1994, includes many previously unreleased song performances and conversation tracks.
Also, "Good Ol' Freda," a documentary about the Beatles as seen through the eyes of the band's former secretary Freda Kelly, is now being shown in select theaters.
This November, the Rolling Stones will be releasing a live DVD of two concerts they gave at London's Hyde Park last July. Also, a new mix of David Bowie's 1977 song, "Sound And Vision," is scheduled to be released later this month. Elton John's upcoming album, "The Diving Board," is now available for preview as an audio stream on amazon.com, and Smokey Robinson announced plans for a new album of duets.
Brian Wilson and Jeff Beck will be launching a tour later this month and will be joined by some Beach Boys members. Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young will be playing at this year's Bridge School Benefit Concert which will take place at the end of October in Mountain View, CA. Also, Bruce Springsteen and Roger Waters will be performing at the "Stand Up for Heroes" Benefit Concert at New York's Theater at Madison Square Garden this November.
Finally, David Bowie is among those nominated for Britain's prestigious Mercury Prize for his album, "The Next Day," which was released last March. The award ceremonies will take place at the end of October.
September 8, 2013: Rolling Stones To Release Hyde Park DVD This November
The Rolling Stones will be releasing a live DVD of two concerts they gave at London's Hyde Park last July. "The Rolling Stones Sweet Summer Sun - Hyde Park Live," which includes 16 songs plus special appearances by former band member Mick Taylor, is due November 11, 2013.

September 9, 2013: Brian Wilson And Jeff Beck To Launch Tour This Month
Brian Wilson and Jeff Beck will be launching a tour later this month. They will be joined by Beach Boys members Al Jardine, David Marks, and Blondie Chaplin for some of the shows. The first show will take place on September 27, 2013 in Hollywood, FL, with more shows in New York City, Las Vegas, Oakland, and Los Angeles.

September 9, 2013: Bruce Springsteen, Roger Waters To Play 'Stand Up for Heroes' Benefit Concert
Bruce Springsteen and former Pink Floyd singer and bassist Roger Waters will be among those performing at "Stand Up for Heroes," a Benefit Concert for veterans, injured service members, and their families. Other featured acts will include comedians Jerry Seinfeld and Jon Stewart. This event will take place on November 6, 2013 at New York's Theater at Madison Square Garden and will run alongside the New York Comedy Festival. September 10, 2013: CSNY To Play At This Year's Bridge School Benefit Concert
The Bridge School, which helps children with severe physical and speech disabilities, was founded in 1986, and since then, Neil Young has been holding annual benefit concerts to help fund this school. This year's Bridge School Benefit Concert will take place on October 26-27, 2013 at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA, and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young will be among the featured bands and artists. Tickets go on sale September 13.

September 11, 2013: Smokey Robinson Announces Plans For Upcoming Duets Album
Smokey Robinson announced plans to record a new album of duets with various top R&B singers. The songs will include many oldies classics written by Robinson. Randy Jackson, a former judge for American Idol, will be producing this album.

September 11, 2013: New Mix Of David Bowie's 'Sound And Vision' To Be Released This Month
David Bowie will be releasing a new mix of one of his songs, "Sound and Vision," later this month. This song was originally included on his 1977 album, "Low," and also used in a recent commercial for the Sony Xperia Z smartphone.

September 11, 2013: Documentary About Former Beatles' Secretary Showing In Theaters
"Good Ol' Freda," a documentary about the Beatles as seen through the eyes of the band's former secretary Freda Kelly, is now being shown in select theaters in North America. This film is based on Kelly's stories and recollections of her 11-year association with the Fab Four from the band's founding through shortly after its breakup. As the Beatles' trusted secretary and close friend, Kelly had the rare opportunity to observe firsthand the Beatles rise to fame to become the world's greatest rock band.
September 12, 2013: Volume 2 Of Beatles 'On Air - Live At The BBC' To Be Released This November
Volume 2 of the Beatles' "On Air - Live At The BBC" is set to be released on November 11, 2013. This long-awaited collection, which is the sequel to Volume 1 released in 1994, consists of 63 tracks, including 23 unreleased conversation tracks and 37 previously unreleased song performances. The recordings for both Volumes 1 and 2 were taken from live broadcasts of the Beatles on the BBC from 1962-1965, which total about 275. "On Air - Live At The BBC Volume 2" will be released on both vinyl and CD, along with a remastered reissue of Volume 1.

September 12, 2013: David Bowie Nominated For Mercury Prize
The Mercury Prize is an annual award for the best album from the United Kingdom and Ireland. This year's nominees include David Bowie for his comeback album, "The Next Day," which was released last March. "The Next Day" is the 12th album by David Bowie to be nominated for this prestigious prize. The award ceremonies will take place on October 30, 2013 at the Roundhouse in London.
