During the week of April 20, 2014, Paul McCartney announced that he will be giving a concert this August at San Francisco's landmark Candlestick Park which is scheduled for demolition sometime near the end of this year. His show will be the last one to be held at this famous venue which is also where the Beatles gave their final concert almost 50 years ago.
After a long recovery from vocal cord paresis, Art Garfunkel is now performing again and has a series of shows lined up in the Northeast. Former Beach Boys member Al Jardine and Dean Torrence of Jan & Dean will be among the featured performers at the Mayfest on Main event in North Myrtle Beach, SC, which takes place next month. Styx, Foreigner, and ex-Eagles member Don Felder will be starting a joint tour this May. Peter Frampton will be launching a tour this June and is also scheduled to release a new album that same month. Crosby, Stills & Nash have added more shows to their U.S. tour which begins this July. Carlos Santana announced a series of new show dates for next November and January at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. Highlights of this year's New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, which include performances by Santana, Irma Thomas, John Fogerty, and Robert Plant, will be shown on AXS TV May 1-4, 2014. Also, Gregg Allman was forced to cancel a series of shows for this spring due to a broken wrist.
The Doors' 1972 album, "Weird Scenes Inside The Gold Mine," was recently reissued on vinyl for Record Store Day and will also become available on CD and as a digital download this May. Also that month, three classic Rolling Stones albums will be reissued on vinyl by ABKCO Records as part of an ongoing series which began in May, 2013. This June, David Bowie will be releasing a limited edition vinyl picture disc of his 1974 song, "Diamond Dogs."
Congratulations go to Deep Purple and Black Sabbath who were among this year's honorees at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards ceremonies which took place on April 23, 2014.

April 21, 2014: Al Jardine Announces Upcoming Show And Discusses Upcoming Brian Wilson Album
Former Beach Boys member Al Jardine reported that Brian Wilson is currently working on a new album in which Jardine and Jeff Beck will be among the guest artists. Jardine will also be among the featured performers at the Mayfest on Main event in North Myrtle Beach, SC, which takes place on May 10, 2014. This event will also feature Dean Torrence of Jan & Dean.

April 21, 2014: Art Garfunkel Performing Again
After a long recovery from vocal cord paresis, Art Garfunkel is now performing again and is in fine form. The 72-year-old singer currently has a series of shows lined up in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Massachusetts, North and South Carolina, and New York for May and June of this year.

April 21, 2014: Santana Announces New Shows For Las Vegas Residency
Carlos Santana announced a series of new show dates at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas where the guitar legend has been in residency for the past two years. April 22, 2014: Crosby, Stills & Nash Add More Shows To U.S. Tour
Crosby, Stills & Nash will be touring the U.S. starting July 2, 2014 in Bethlehem, PA, and they have added three new show dates to their itinerary. These shows are scheduled to take place on July 11 at New York City's Beacon Theatre and on September 16 and 17 in Portland and Eugene, OR, respectively. April 23, 2014: Styx, Foreigner, And Don Felder To Launch Joint Tour
Styx, Foreigner, and ex-Eagles member Don Felder will be launching a joint tour dubbed "The Soundtrack of Summer." This tour kicks off on May 14, 2014 in Wichita, KS and ends on August 17 in Des Moines, IA. A featured part of their shows will be a new version of the Eagles' classic "Hotel California," which will also be included as part of the upcoming companion CD for this tour.

April 23, 2014: Peter Frampton To Release New Album And Launch Tour
Peter Frampton will be releasing a new album of works he created for his collaboration with the Cincinnati Ballet in 2013. Titled "Hummingbird In A Box," this new album will be coming out on June 24, 2014. Frampton has also lined up a series of concerts that begin on June 22 in Cincinnati, OH. He will be performing both solo and with the Doobie Brothers and other bands and artists.

April 24, 2014: Gregg Allman Cancels Shows Due To Broken Wrist
Gregg Allman recently broke his wrist and was forced to cancel the remainder of his shows for his solo tour which began this month in Australia. Allman managed to perform at some of the Australian shows but had to cut the tour short when his condition got worse. He was slated to give a series of shows in the U.S. afterwards but has instead returned to the States for medical treatment. Earlier this month, Allman also had to cancel four Allman Brothers Band shows in New York because of bronchitis.

April 24, 2014: Rolling Stones Albums To Be Reissued On Clear Vinyl
On May 6, 2014, three Rolling Stones albums will be reissued by ABKCO Records on clear 180-gram vinyl: "12 x 5" (1964), "Through the Past, Darkly" (1969), and "Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out! The Rolling Stones in Concert" (1970). These albums are part of the ongoing "Clearly Classic" series which began in May, 2013 with "Beggar's Banquet" (1968), "Let It Bleed" (1969), and "Hot Rocks 1964-1971" (1971).

April 24, 2014: David Bowie To Release 'Diamond Dogs' 40th Anniversary Picture Disc Single
On June 17, 2014, David Bowie will be releasing a 7" vinyl picture disc of his 1974 song, "Diamond Dogs." This song will be available as a limited edition recording with the song's original version on one side and a 2005 remix on the other, with the picture taken from a black and white photo from 1974 of Bowie with a barking dog.

April 24, 2014: Paul McCartney To Give Final Candlestick Park Concert
As part of his ongoing "Out There" world tour, Paul McCartney is set to give the final concert at San Francisco's Candlestick Park which is scheduled for demolition sometime in late 2014-early 2015. This event, dubbed "Farewell to Candlestick: The Final Concert," is set to take place on August 14, 2014. This famous park is the same venue where the Beatles gave their last concert, which took place on August 29, 1966. McCartney is also slated to perform at Dodgers Stadium on August 10 for the first time since the Beatles gave a concert there on August 28, 1966. April 24, 2014: Deep Purple, Black Sabbath Honored At 2014 'Revolver' Golden Gods Awards
Deep Purple and Black Sabbath were among the honorees at this year's Revolver Golden Gods Awards ceremonies which took place on April 23, 2014 at Los Angeles' Club Nokia. Deep Purple received the Comeback of the Year award, and Black Sabbath won the Album of the Year award for "13."

April 25, 2014: New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival To Be Shown On AXS TV In May
Highlights from this year's New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, which is set to take place April 25-May 4, 2014, will be shown on AXS TV May 1-4 daily from 3:30-11:00 PM ET, with encore screenings. Carlos Santana, Irma Thomas, John Fogerty, and Robert Plant & the Sensational Space Shifters are among the featured bands and artists to be shown on AXS. Other performers at the festival include Eric Clapton, Chaka Khan, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Aaron Neville, Johnny Winter, Bobby Womack, and Boz Scaggs.

April 26, 2014: Doors' 'Weird Scenes Inside The Gold Mine' To Be Reissued On CD
As a follow-up to its first reissue on vinyl on Record Store Day, the Doors' 1972 album, "Weird Scenes Inside The Gold Mine," is also set to be reissued as a 2-CD set and as a digital download on May 19, 2014. Besides classic Doors hits, this long out-of-print album also includes rare B-sides and other lesser known songs.
