During the week of February 2, 2014, the Beatles were honored by the New York Port Authority with a historical marker at JFK Airport where they made their famous arrival amid adoring fans on their first trip to the U.S. 50 years ago. This ceremony was one of many nationwide celebratory events that week for the Fab Four that also included David Letterman's "Beatles Week" and the CBS special, "The Night That Changed America: A Grammy Salute To The Beatles."

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum is celebrating this year's Black History Month with free concerts, films, lectures, and other events that focus on the history of jazz. Starting this April, Olivia Newton-John will be performing her new show, "Summer Nights," at Flamingo Las Vegas as part of a headlining residency. Also, Foreigner, Styx, and Don Felder will be launching their "Soundtrack of Summer" tour this May.

This March, Rod Stewart will be releasing a new box set of live performances from the late 1970s-1990s. Also, Ringo Starr just released a children's book with CD based on his "Octopus's Garden" song.

A new James Brown biopic co-produced by Mick Jagger titled "Get On Up" is in the works and nearing completion. This film stars Chadwick Boseman as the Godfather of Soul.


February 2, 2014: Rod Stewart To Release Live Box Set This March

On March 18, 2014, a Rod Stewart box set titled "Live 1976-1998: Tonight's the Night" is scheduled for release. This 4-disc set includes 58 live performances by Stewart from the late 1970s-1990s, many of them previously unreleased.

February 3, 2014: Ringo Starr Releases Children's Book Based On "Octopus's Garden"

Ringo Starr just published a children's book based on his song, "Octopus's Garden," from the Beatles' 1969 "Abbey Road" album. Released on February 4, 2014, this book includes illustrations by Ben Cort and a CD with both a spoken and a new sung version by Ringo Starr of this song.

February 4, 2014: Olivia Newton-John To Headline At Flamingo Las Vegas In April

Starting April 8, 2014, Olivia Newton-John will be performing her new show, "Summer Nights," at Flamingo Las Vegas. Named after one of her songs from "Grease," this show will feature Newton-John's hits from the 1970s and beyond, plus other favorites from "Grease" and her other movies. Part of the ticket sales will go towards the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre (ONJCWC) in Melbourne, Australia.

February 4, 2014: James Brown Biopic In Progress

A new James Brown biopic co-produced by Mick Jagger is nearing completion. Titled "Get On Up," this upcoming film stars Chadwick Boseman as the Godfather of Soul and cover's Brown's entire life.

February 4, 2014: Beatles Honored By New York Port Authority With Historical Marker At JFK Airport

On February 7, 2014, the Beatles were honored by the New York Port Authority with a historical marker at John F. Kennedy Airport where the Fab Four made their famous landing on their first trip to the U.S. 50 years ago. The marker was unveiled during a ceremony at JFK's Central Terminal Area where the Beatles held their first stateside press conference.

February 5, 2014: Foreigner, Styx, And Don Felder To Launch Summer Tour

On May 16, 2014, Foreigner, Styx, and Don Felder will be launching their "Soundtrack of Summer" tour in Oklahoma City, OK. This tour, which wraps up on July 27 in Santa Barbara, CA, will cover over 20 states in the South, Southwest, Midwest, and Northeast.
