During the week of June 1, 2014, it was announced that the Beatles' 1964 movie, "A Hard Day's Night," will be playing in select theaters across the nation on July 4, marking the 50th anniversary of this film's premiere (see trailer below).
Also that week, a traveling exhibit of Beatles memorabilia and interactive attractions opened at the Mall of America in Bloomington, MN.
A CD reissue of Vikki Carr's 1972 album, "The First Time Ever (I Saw Your Face)," was just released. Later this month, Jackson Browne's 1974 album, "Late For The Sky," is set for release on CD and on various digital platforms. A deluxe box set of Elvis Presley's album and documentary, "Elvis: That's the Way It Is," is due out this August. Also, the Beatles' five Japanese albums will be released as a box set sometime later this year.
Diana Ross announced a new North American leg for her "In The Name Of Love" tour which kicks off this June in Sterling Heights, MI. Peter Frampton has added more show dates to his 2014 North American tour which also begins this June. King Crimson will be reuniting for a series of U.S. shows which start this September in Albany, NY. Also, the Allman Brothers announced that they will be giving their final shows this October which will take place in New York City.
Also, Chubby Checker was announced as the latest addition to the lineup of stars for the upcoming Songwriters Hall of Fame ceremonies. This year's inductees include Donovan, Jim Weatherly, Ray Davies, Graham Gouldman, and the Kenny Gamble/Leon Huff songwriting duo.

June 2, 2014: Allman Brothers Band Announces Final Shows
The Allman Brothers announced that they will be giving their last shows this October. These final performances will take place at one of their favorite venues, New York's Beacon Theatre, where they have given 232 shows since 1989.

June 2, 2014: King Crimson Reunites For Fall Shows
King Crimson, a British progressive rock band that became famous in the 1970s, will be reuniting for a series of shows in the U.S. starting September 9, 2014 in Albany, NY and ending October 6 in Seattle, WA. The band's current lineup includes Robert Fripp who has been King Crimson's bandleader since its founding in 1968.

June 2, 2014: Peter Frampton Adds More Shows To 2014 Tour
Peter Frampton has just added more show dates to his 2014 North American tour which kicks off June 20 in Rosemont, IL. To date, he has 40 concerts lined up in various cities through September 14. Frampton will also be releasing a new album later this month, "Hummingbird In A Box."

June 3, 2014: Vikki Carr 1972 Album Reissued
On June 3, 2014, a CD reissue of Vikki Carr's 1972 album, "The First Time Ever (I Saw Your Face)," is scheduled for release. This collection include Carr's hard-to-find hit version of "Big Hurt," covers of various top hits from the early 1970s, and some Christmas songs. Also included are numerous rare photos and extensive liner notes.

June 4, 2014: Jackson Browne 1974 Album Reissued
On June 24, 2014, Jackson Browne's 1974 album, "Late For The Sky," is scheduled for re-release on CD and on various digital platforms. This album, which reached #14 on the Billboard 200, includes "For A Dancer," "Before The Deluge," and other classic songs. Browne will also be releasing a new studio album sometime this fall, and he will be launching a summer tour on June 30 in Fish Creek, WI.

June 4, 2014: Diana Ross To Launch Second Leg Of Tour
Diana Ross announced a string of summer show dates in North America for the second leg of her "In The Name Of Love" tour. This leg kicks off on June 13, 2014 in Sterling Heights, MI and wraps up on July 4 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Ross will also be performing two shows in California this September.

June 5, 2014: Beatles Japanese Albums To Be Re-released
Capitol Records will soon be re-releasing the Beatles five Japanese albums as a box set. This collection will include "Meet the Beatles!," "The Beatles' Second Album," "A Hard Day's Night," "Beatles No. 5" and "Help!" plus a 100-page booklet and various memorabilia.

June 5, 2014: Beatles Exhibit Opens At Minnesota's Mall Of America
On June 5, 2014, a traveling exhibit of various Beatles memorabilia items and interactive attractions is set to open at the Midwest Music Museum in the Mall of America in Bloomington, MN. This exhibit, which celebrates the 50th anniversary of the start of Beatlemania, includes such items as stage costumes, instruments, rare recordings, photos, and documents. Interactive attractions include one that walks visitors through playing drums like Ringo Starr. June 5, 2014: Elvis Box Set Due Out This August
A deluxe box set of Elvis Presley's album and documentary, "Elvis: That's the Way It Is," is scheduled for release on August 5, 2014. This film, which documents the Elvis Summer Festival which took place during August 1970 at the International Hotel in Las Vegas, features both onstage and behind-the-scenes footage. The box set comes with eight CDs and two DVDs that include the original movie and album plus the 2001 edition of the film, outtakes, interviews, rare photos, and more.
