During the week of March 30, 2014, it was announced that the Everly Brothers, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Linda Ronstadt, and Isaac Hayes will be among those to be inducted this year into the Library of Congress National Recording Registry.
Also that week, the Rolling Stones announced that they will resume their world tour this May which was put on hold following the suicide of Mick Jagger's girlfriend, L'Wren Scott. They have also rescheduled cancelled shows in Australia and New Zealand for late October through November.
An all-new cast for the popular and then-controversial 1970s rock musical, "Jesus Christ, Superstar," will be touring North America starting this June. Kool and the Gang, the NItty Gritty Dirt Band, Kansas, and Alice Cooper (with Motley Crue) are among the many bands and artists who will be performing at this year's SummerFest In Milwaukee, WI, to take place from late June-early July. ZZ Top and Jeff Beck will be launching a joint U.S. tour that kicks off this August. Steely Dan will also be launching a tour this summer, and so far, two show dates have been set. Also, Van Morrison, Georgie Fame, and Elvis Costello will be among those headlining this year's BluesFest festival which will take place this October at London's Royal Albert Hall.
Stevie Nicks, Bruce Springsteen, and Glenn Frey of the Eagles are among those who will be performing and/or taking part in honoring new inductees at this year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremonies. Also, all surviving members of KISS, both past and present, will be in attendance except for Vinnie Vincent. This event, which takes place on April 10, 2014 at New York's Barclays Center, will be broadcast on HBO May 31. Among this year's inductees are KISS, the E Street Band, Cat Stevens (Yusuf Islam), Linda Ronstadt, Brian Epstein, and Hall & Oates. Also, KISS, Stevie Nicks, and Cat Stevens will be guests on Jimmy Fallon's "Tonight Show" on various nights during the week of the induction ceremonies.
The first album of previously unreleased songs by Michael Jackson since his passing in 2009, titled "Xscape," is due out this May. Also, former KISS member Ace Frehley is set to release a solo album this June.
Also that week, Paul Simon was honored at a tribute concert at Carnegie Hall in which various bands and artists performed songs he penned over the years. Later this April, Willie Nelson and Stevie Ray Vaughan will be among the first to be inducted into the newly-established Austin City Limits Hall of Fame.
Finally, a documentary titled "The Dave Clark Five and Beyond - Glad All Over" about the famed 1960s British Invasion band will air on PBS April 8 and April 11, 2014 (see preview below).

March 31, 2014: First Posthumous Michael Jackson Album With New Music To Be Released
The first album of previously unreleased music by Michael Jackson to come out after his passing in 2009, titled "Xscape," is due out on May 13, 2014. This album, which can be preordered on iTunes starting April 1, includes eight previously unreleased songs that have been reworked, including the album's title song.

March 31, 2014: Ace Frehley To Release Solo Album
Former KISS member Ace Frehley is set to release a solo album on June 23, 2014. Titled "Space Invader," this album will include nine original songs and a cover of "The Joker" by the Steve Miller Band.

March 31, 2014: Willie Nelson, Stevie Ray Vaughan To Be Inducted Into Austin City Limits Hall Of Fame
Willie Nelson and Stevie Ray Vaughan are among those who will be inducted into the newly-established Austin City Limits Hall of Fame. "Austin City Limits" is a TV concert series that has been broadcast on PBS for the past 40 years. In celebration of its 40-year anniversary, this popular TV show is holding its first inaugural induction ceremony which is set to take place on April 26, 2014 at Studio 6A at the Austin TV station KLRU, where "Austin City Limits" originally began.

April 1, 2014: Rolling Stones To Resume World Tour This May
The Rolling Stones will be resuming their "14 On Fire" world tour this May. New shows in Europe have been added, including one that is to take place in Oslo, Norway on May 26, 2014. This tour was interrupted last March when the band postponed shows that were to take place in Australia and New Zealand following the suicide of L'Wren Scott, Mick Jagger's girlfriend.

Bruce Springsteen will be among those who will be participating in this year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremonies. Springsteen will induct and also perform along with the E Street Band, one of this year's honorees. Others set to participate in this year's ceremonies include the Eagles' Glenn Frey, who will be inducting Linda Ronstadt.

April 1, 2014: Most Surviving KISS Members To Attend Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremonies
Most of the surviving members of KISS, both past and present, will be in attendance at this year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremonies. The only member who won't be present is the hard-to-find guitarist Vinnie Vincent, who could not be tracked down. The original founding members of KISS - Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley, and Peter Criss - are among this year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees.

On March 31, 2014, Paul Simon was honored at a tribute concert at Carnegie Hall. The famed singer-songwriter was serenaded by various bands and artists who performed 23 songs he wrote that span his over five decades-long career. Among the featured performers were Judy Collins and Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart.

April 2, 2014: Library Of Congress To Honor Everly Brothers, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Linda Ronstadt, Isaac Hayes
The Everly Brothers, Linda Ronstadt, Isaac Hayes, and Creedence Clearwater Revival are among those to be inducted this year into the Library of Congress National Recording Registry. The recordings chosen for posterity by these bands and artists, which include both hit singles and albums, are the Everly Brothers' "Cathy's Clown" (1960), Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Fortunate Son" (1969), Linda Ronstadt's "Heart Like a Wheel" (1974), and Isaac Hayes "Shaft" (1971). Also included are the original production of "Sweeney Todd" and historic spoken recordings by Lyndon B. Johnson.

April 3, 2014: ZZ Top And Jeff Beck To Launch Joint Tour
ZZ Top and Jeff Beck will be launching a joint U.S. tour that kicks off on August 8, 2014 in Missoula, MT and ends on September 12 in The Woodlands, TX. The two acts also have other tour dates for this summer before their joint tour begins. Beck will be performing in Asia, Australia and Europe, and ZZ Top will be in Europe.

April 4, 2014: Johnny Rotten To Play King Herod In Upcoming 'Jesus Christ Superstar' Production

The tour will cover over 50 cities and end on August 17 in Philadelphia, PA. April 5, 2014: Steely Dan To Launch Summer Tour
Steely Dan will be launching its "Jamalot Ever After" tour sometime this summer. So far, two show dates have been set, for July 17, 2014 at Humphrey's in San Diego, and for August 8 at the Seneca Events Center in Niagara Falls, NY. More shows are expected to be announced soon.

April 5, 2014: KISS, Stevie Nicks, Cat Stevens To Perform On 'Tonight Show'
KISS, Stevie Nicks, and Cat Stevens (now Yusuf Islam) are among this year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees to perform on Jimmy Fallon's "Tonight Show." These bands and artists will appear on different night during the week of the induction ceremonies which are set to take place April 10, 2014. Yusuf Islam will perform on the Tuesday night show, Stevie Nicks will perform with The Roots on Wednesday, and KISS will perform on Friday (April 11), one day after the induction ceremonies.

April 5, 2014: Rolling Stones Reschedule New Zealand And Australia Shows
The Rolling Stones have rescheduled the cancelled shows from the Australia/New Zealand leg of their world tour from last month. These newly rescheduled shows will take place October 25-November 22, 2014. The dates and times for each city will be announced once they have been firmed up.
