During the week of September 21, 2014, Barbra Streisand made pop music history with her latest album, "Partners," which debuted at no. 1 on the Billboard 200 the previous week, making her the first artist with at least one album to top that chart in each of the last six decades.

Also that week, it was announced that there is a new EP of solo songs by each member of the Beatles, titled "4," which is available now as a free download on iTunes.

This November, Mavis Staples will be honored in a tribute concert that will take place in Staples' home town of Chicago. Bob Dylan will also be honored in a tribute concert next February for being named MusiCares Person of the Year by the Recording Academy. Also, Bob Seger announced his upcoming North American tour which begins this November.

This September, Herb Alpert will be releasing a new album titled "In The Mood." This October, The Who will release "The Who Hits 50!" which includes a new song, "Be Lucky." This November, Pink Floyd is set to release "The Endless River," the band's first new album in 20 years. Also that month, Bette Midler will be releasing a new album of covers of hits by various girl groups titled "It's The Girls."

Also that week, it was announced that Paul Rodgers, the Bad Company frontman who was also the lead singer of Free, will be featured in the November 11, 2014 episode of the PBS series, "Front and Center."

Finally, the stage backdrop from the Beatles' historic 1964 debut on the Ed Sullivan Show is among a number of rare items that will be put up for sale at the upcoming Fest For Beatles Fans which takes place this October in Los Angeles.

September 22, 2014: Pink Floyd To Release First New Album In 20 Years

On November 10, 2014, Pink Floyd is set to release "The Endless River," the band's first new album in 20 years. After the release of the 1994 album, "The Division Bell," Pink Floyd disbanded then briefly reunited in 2005 for a performance at Live 8. Surviving members reunited again in 2011 for a show in London.

September 23, 2014: Herb Alpert To Release New Album

On September 30, 2014, Herb Alpert will be releasing a new album titled "In The Mood." Highlights include Alpert's version of "Chattanooga Choo Choo" and other pop classics, plus a number of songs performed by Alpert's wife, Lani Hall, who was the lead singer of Sergio Mendes & Brasil '66.

September 23, 2014: Mavis Staples To Be Honored In Tribute Concert

Gregg Allman, Aaron Neville, and other top artists will be paying tribute to Mavis Staples in a concert dubbed "I'll Take You There - Celebrating 75 Years of Mavis Staples" This event is set to take place in Staples' home town of Chicago on November 19, 2014 at the Auditorium Theater. Tickets go on sale September 29.

September 23, 2014: Bob Dylan To Be Honored In Tribute Concert

Willie Nelson, Tom Jones, Neil Young, and Crosby, Stills & Nash are among those who will be performing at a tribute concert in honor of Bob Dylan being named by the Recording Academy as its MusiCares Person of the Year for 2015. This event is set to take place on February 4, 2015.

September 23, 2014: Bette Midler To Release New Album Of Girl Group Covers

On November 4, 2014, Bette Midler will be releasing a new album of covers of hits by various girl groups titled "It's The Girls." Highlights of this collection includes songs by such top sixties acts as The Supremes, Martha Reeves & the Vandellas, The Marvelettes, The Chiffons, The Crystals, and The Ronettes, with a duet by Midler and Darlene Love.

September 24, 2014: Ed Sullivan Show Stage Backdrop For Beatles' 1964 Debut For Sale At Beatles Fest

The next Fest For Beatles Fans is set to take place October 10-12, 2014 in Los Angeles at the LAX Marriott. Among the many items to be put up for sale is the stage backdrop from the Beatles' historic 1964 debut on the Ed Sullivan Show, which the Fest has priced at $550,000. The Fest For Beatles Fans is a bi-annual event that features a multitude of attractions including concerts, special guests, exhibits, and Beatles memorabilia for sale.

September 24, 2014: New EP Of Solo Songs By Each Beatle Free On iTunes

A new four-track EP of solo songs by each member of the Beatles is now free on iTunes. The four songs that make up this EP, titled "4," are John Lennon's "Love" (1970), Paul McCartney's "Call Me Back Again" (1975), George Harrison's "Let It Down" (1970), and Ringo Starr's "Walk With You" (2010).

September 25, 2014: The Who To Release New Album With First New Song In Eight Years

September 25, 2014: Bob Seger To Launch North American Tour

Bob Seger announced his upcoming North American tour which kicks off on November 19, 2014 in Saginaw, MI and ends on February 27, 2015 in Los Angeles. Seger will be accompanied by the Silver Bullet Band on this 23-date trek, and the J. Geils Band will open some of the shows.

September 25, 2014: Paul Rodgers To Appear On PBS

Paul Rodgers, the frontman for Bad Company who also used to be the lead singer for Free, is among those who will be featured in an upcoming episode of the PBS live performance series, "Front and Center," which is set to premiere on November 11, 2014.
