During the week of July 9, 2017, it was announced that the Ron Howard documentary, "The Beatles: Eight Days a Week -- The Touring Years," received five Emmy nominations. The Emmys air live September 17, 2017 on CBS.

A new David Bowie box set titled "A New Career In A New Town (1977-1982)" will be coming out in September. Also due out that month are a new album by Van Morrison titled "Roll With The Punches," an expanded version of Linda Ronstadt's 1977 album, "Simple Dreams," and an Alice Cooper DVD titled "Welcome To My Nightmare: Special Edition."

Van Morrison announced an international tour beginning in September in support of his latest album. Also, Status Quo (of "Pictures Of Matchstick Men" fame) will launch a tour in the U.K. beginning in November.

Also that week, a memoir by Greg Lake titled "Lucky Man" was published posthumously in the U.K. The late lead singer of Emerson, Lake & Palmer had been battling lung cancer prior to his passing in December 2016.

July 10, 2017: Status Quo To Launch U.K. Tour

Status Quo announced a tour in the U.K. beginning later this fall. Dubbed the "Live And Rockin" 2017 UK Tour, this upcoming nine-date trek starts on November 26, 2017 in Manchester, England and ends on December 8 in London, covering many other cities in England plus Glasgow, Scotland and Cardiff, Wales. This veteran English psychedelic-hard rock band is best remembered in the U.S. for the 1968 hit, "Pictures Of Matchstick Men."

July 11, 2017: Van Morrison To Launch Fall Tour

Van Morrison announced an international fall tour in support of his latest album, "Roll With The Punches." This upcoming 17-date trek, which begins on September 10, 2017 in Hershey, PA and ends on December 5 in Belfast, Ireland, will also cover various cities in California and Tennessee, as well as much of the U.K.

July 11, 2017: Greg Lake Memoir Published Posthumously

A new memoir by Greg Lake titled "Lucky Man" was recently published in the U.K. This book covers three main phases in Lake's life: his childhood, his days with King Crimson, and his time with Emerson, Lake & Palmer through the present. The late ELP lead singer had been battling lung cancer prior to his passing in December 2016 at age 69.

July 11, 2017: Expanded Version Of Linda Ronstadt 1977 Album To Be Released

Linda Ronstadt's "Simple Dreams" turns 40 this September, and in commemoration, an expanded version of this classic album will be coming out on September 15, 2017. This album, which topped the Billboard 200, includes four Top 40 hits: "Blue Bayou," "It's So Easy," "Poor Poor Pitiful Me," and "Tumbling Dice."

July 11, 2017: Van Morrison To Release New Album

July 12, 2017: New David Bowie Box Set To Be Released

A new David Bowie box set titled "A New Career In A New Town (1977-1982)" will be coming out on September 29, 2017. This massive collection, which is the third in a series of box sets focusing on different periods of Bowie's career, includes a remastered version of his "Berlin Trilogy": "Low" (1977), "Heroes" (1977), and "Lodger" (1979). Also included are "Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps)" (1980), two mixes of the live album, "Stage" (1978), an additional new mix of "Lodger," and a compilation titled "Re:Call 3" that includes singles, B-sides, and more.

July 13, 2017: New DVD Featuring 1975 Alice Cooper TV Special & Concert Film To Be Released

An Alice Cooper DVD titled "Welcome To My Nightmare: Special Edition" will be coming out on September 8, 2017. This upcoming collection includes the 1975 ABC TV special titled "Alice Cooper: The Nightmare" in which the shock rocker performed songs from his then-new concept album, "Welcome To My Nightmare." Also included is a concert film of the same title featuring performances at London's Wembley Arena in support of the album.

July 13, 2017: Beatles Documentary Receives Five Emmy Nominations

"The Beatles: Eight Days a Week -- The Touring Years," the Ron Howard-directed Fab Four documentary which made its TV premiere last September on Hulu, received five Emmy nominations that include Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special. This film focuses on the history of The Beatles from 1962-1966 during which the band toured and performed extensively. The Emmys will air live September 17, 2017 on CBS.
