During the week of May 28, 2017, a guitar that Jerry Garcia had used extensively throughout much of his career fetched over $1.9 million at auction.
Also that week, an airplane once owned by Elvis Presley sold at auction for $430,000.
This June, two Bob Seger albums will be reissued on vinyl: "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man (1969) and "Greatest Hits" (1994).
Graham Nash announced a new series of shows in the U.S. and Canada beginning in July. Bob Seger announced a U.S. tour with his Silver Bullet Band starting in August. Foreigner will launch a new series of headlining shows in Canada beginning in October.
Also that week, it was announced that the late Gregg Allman will be honored in concert at the 2017 CMT Music Awards which airs on June 7, 2017. Earth, Wind & Fire will be featured in an episode of CMT Crossroads to be shown on June 23. Also, Ovation will broadcast a series of documentaries over the month of June featuring The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, and other rock legends.
Finally, two classic oldies recordings celebrated their 50th anniversaries. The Beatles' groundbreaking album, "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," was released in the U.S. on June 2, 1967, one day after its official release in the U.K. Aretha Franklin's landmark soul anthem, "Respect," topped the Billboard 100 chart for the week ending June 3, 1967.

May 29, 2017: Elvis Presley Jet Fetches Over $400K At Auction
A jet once owned by Elvis Presley and his father sold for $430,000 at an auction held on May 27, 2017 in Agoura Hills, CA. Housed in an airport in Roswell, NM, this aircraft, a 1962 Lockheed Jetstar jet, had been a popular tourist attraction for the past 30 years.

May 30, 2017: Bob Seger Albums To Be Reissued On Vinyl
On June 2, 2017, two Bob Seger albums will be reissued on vinyl: "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man (1969) and "Greatest Hits" (1994). "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man" was Seger's debut album, and the title track became his first Top 20 hit. "Greatest Hits," which will be available exclusively on BobSeger.com, features such hits as "Night Moves," "Hollywood Nights," "Still The Same," "Old Time Rock And Roll," and "Like A Rock."
May 30, 2017: Foreigner Add Shows In Canada To 40th Anniversary Tour
Foreigner announced a new series of fall headlining shows in Canada as part of the band's 40th anniversary tour. This upcoming 10-date trek begins on October 11, 2017 in Calgary, AB and ends on October 22 in Abbotsford, BC, covering Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan. Also, a new musical featuring various Foreigner hit songs will premiere in Calgary sometime in 2018. The band is currently on tour in Europe.

May 31, 2017: Gregg Allman Tribute To Air On CMT
This year's CMT Music Awards will pay tribute in concert to Gregg Allman who recently passed away at age 69. Featured artists will include Earth, Wind & Fire who will perform with Lady Antebellum. This show will air June 7, 2017 on CMT.

June 1, 2017: Bob Seger Announces Tour
Bob Seger announced a U.S. tour with his Silver Bullet Band. Dubbed "Runaway Train Tour," this upcoming 16-date trek begins on August 23, 2017 in Toledo, OH and ends on October 7 in Atlanta, GA, covering many states on the East Coast and the Northeast, with more show dates in other locations to be announced later. Nancy Wilson of Heart will join Seger for some of the shows.

June 1, 2017: Graham Nash Adds New North American Show Dates
Graham Nash announced a new series of shows in North America beginning July 11, 2017 in Norfolk, CT. This upcoming 33-date trek, which ends on October 15 in Milwaukee, WI, will cover various Northern and Northeastern states plus Ontario, Canada. Nash will continue to promote his 2016 album, "This Path Tonight."

June 1, 2017: Jerry Garcia Guitar Fetches $1.9 Million At Auction
A guitar known as Wolf that Jerry Garcia had used extensively throughout much of his career sold for over $1.9 million at an auction that took place on May 31, 2017 at the Brooklyn Bowl in Brooklyn, NY. According to the auctioneer, this historic instrument first appeared in a 1973 concert The Grateful Dead gave in New York for the Hells Angels. The proceeds from this sale will go to the Southern Poverty Law Center in Montgomery, AL.

June 2, 2017: Ovation To Air Rock Legends Documentary Series
Ovation will air a series of documentaries in June focusing on such rock legends as The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and Jimi Hendrix. All of these never-before-seen (in the U.S.) films will be available for viewing on demand the day after they premiere on Ovation.

Earth, Wind & Fire will team up with Martina McBride and other country stars for an outdoor show in Nashville as part of the "CMT Crossroads" series. Titled "CMT Crossroads: Earth, Wind & Fire and Friends," this show will be taped on June 6, 2017 and will air June 23.
