During the week of December 29, 2019, Madison Square Garden announced that Billy Joel will continue his record-breaking monthly residency with his 76th consecutive show to take place May 2, 2020. In total, this upcoming concert will mark Joel's 122nd lifetime performance since his first show at the famous venue in December 1978.
Also that week, the city of Philadelphia announced the 2020 edition of its annual "Philly Loves Bowie Week" taking place January 3-12 in tribute to the late rock legend. Also, the 2020 Elvis Birthday Celebration will take place January 8-11 at the late King's iconic Graceland mansion in Memphis, TN to commemorate what would have been his 85th birthday. Bill Wyman of The Rolling Stones has published a new photo book titled "Stones From The Inside: Rare And Unseen Images" that gathers together over 270 pictures taken by the band's longtime bassist. Along with the photos, which capture many candid moments while on tour, are commentaries, anecdotes, and recollections. This collection also includes snapshots of David Bowie, Eric Clapton, John Lennon, and many other rock stars with whom the Stones have crossed paths over the years.
Finally, fans bade a final farewell to famed multi-instrumentalist, session musician, producer, and arranger Marty Grebb (September 2, 1945 - January 1, 2020). He was a member of The Buckinghams from 1966-1968 and can be heard playing keyboards on such hits as "Don't You Care," "Hey Baby (They're Playing Our Song)," and "Susan." He later went on to perform and record with such top acts as The Band, Eric Clapton, Etta James, Elton John, Olivia Newton-John, Bonnie Raitt, and Leon Russell. More recently, Grebb served as a member of The Weight Band featuring former members of The Band.
