During the week of September 13, 2020, PBS announced its upcoming "Great Performances - GRAMMY Salute to Music Legends," a TV special airing October 16 that will honor Chicago, Roberta Flack, the late Isaac Hayes, and others who received Grammy Lifetime Achievement Awards in 2020. Among the featured performers to pay tribute in concert are Phillip Bailey of Earth, Wind & Fire and Sam Moore of Sam & Dave.

Also that week, Bonnaroo announced a new online streaming event, Virtual Roo-ality, that will take the place of its usual in-person festival due to COVID-19 concerns. This broadcast, which will run each night from September 24-26 and can be viewed for free from Bonnaroo's YouTube channel, will feature archival footage of past Bonnaroo performances by Nile Rodgers & Chic and the late James Brown as well as new appearances by dozens of other bands and artists.

"Harry Chapin: When In Doubt, Do Something," a new documentary about the late singer-songwriter who was killed in July 1981 in an auto accident, will premiere in cinemas and virtual theaters on October 16, 2020. This movie, which features archival interviews and performances, covers the life and career of Chapin as well as his humanitarian work. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Harry Chapin Foundation and his other charity, WhyHunger.

"Stevie Nicks 24 Karat Gold The Concert," a movie that captures various shows from Nicks' 2016-2017 24 Karat Gold tour, will be coming out in select theaters and drive-ins on October 21 and October 25, 2020. The same-titled companion album will be released on October 30.

"Lennon's Last Weekend" will premiere sometime this December via the Britbox streaming network in conjunction with the 40th anniversary of his passing. This new documentary covers Lennon's final interview that took place with the BBC on December 7, 1980, one day before he was fatally shot outside of his New York City apartment building.

Also that week, AXS TV announced the return of "Live From Daryl's House," a long-running musical performance series hosted by Daryl Hall of Hall & Oates. This show will kick off on October 1 with a new episode featuring Tommy Shaw of Styx. Other veteran bands and artists to appear in future episodes include Smokey Robinson, Joe Walsh, Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, Cheap Trick, and The O'Jays.

Finally, "The Beatles: Get Back," a new documentary about the January 1969 recording sessions that culminated in the band's final album, "Let It Be," will premiere August 27, 2021. An official companion book will be published soon after on August 31.
