During the week of December 19, 2021, ZZ Top became the latest veteran rock act to sell its entire music catalog which includes 15 albums recorded over their five-decade career. A top-selling band with over 50 million recordings sold worldwide to date, ZZ Top made a deal with BMG and the investment firm KKR estimated at around 50 million dollars.

Also that week, the Black Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame announced its 2022 inductees that include Smokey Robinson, Motown founder Berry Gordy Jr., and the late Cicely Tyson and Ray Charles. The awards ceremonies will take place in Atlanta, GA during Black History Month on February 17.

Joe Walsh has extended the availability of the online stream of his fifth annual VetsAid benefit concert, dubbed "The Basement Show," through New Year's Day. This event, which can be viewed via Veeps.com, featured the longtime Eagles guitarist performing from his basement with special guests that include Ringo Starr.

Dionne Warwick was announced as one of the featured performers at the upcoming 133rd annual Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, CA. This event will air live January 1, 2022 on several TV networks and via live stream despite the recent COVID Omicron variant surge.

Also that week, AXS TV announced its upcoming "New Year's Eve Weekend Concert Marathon," which kicks off on December 31, 2021 with "KISS Rocks Vegas," followed by "Def Leppard: Hits Vegas." Other featured performers will include Bad Company, Chicago, Fleetwood Mac, Peter Frampton, Heart, Van Morrison, and The Who. Also, starting January 12, 2022, AXS will air select past episodes of "Live From The Artists Den" that include one featuring Robert Plant (January 19) and another with Ringo Starr (March 2).

Finally, December 20, 2021 marks the 50th anniversary of "The Concert for Bangladesh," a collection of highlights from two benefit shows headlined by George Harrison at New York's Madison Square Garden on August 1, 1971. Featured performers included Bob Dylan, Ringo Starr, Eric Clapton, Billy Preston, Leon Russell, and Ravi Shankar.
