During the week of February 28, 2021, The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame announced that its 2021 induction ceremony will take place October 30 at Cleveland's Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. Rock Hall president Greg Harris also noted that he is "optimistic and hopeful" that this year's event will be an in-person affair.
Patti Smith will give a special performance on May 22, 2021 to commemorate Bob Dylan's upcoming 80th birthday as part of the Kaatsbaan Cultural Park's Spring Festival in Tivoli, NY. Also that week, it was announced that Gladys Knight will make a cameo appearance in the newly-released "Coming 2 America," the sequel to the 1998 hit comedy, "Coming To America," starring Eddie Murphy. The R&B legend is featured performing "Midnight Train From Zamunda," a parody of her smash 1973 hit. "Coming 2 America" can be viewed on Amazon.com's Prime Video.
Finally, David Crosby recently sold interests in his music catalog and recordings to Irving Azoff's Iconic Artists Group. The folk rock legend's extensive catalog includes music he created as a member of The Byrds, Crosby & Nash, Crosby, Stills & Nash, and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, as well as solo works.
