During the week of June 6, 2021, Lynyrd Skynyrd and King Crimson became among a growing number of veteran bands and artists to announce their return to the stage for the first time since the start of the pandemic. Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Big Wheels Keep On Turnin'" Tour begins June 13 in Forest City, IA, with 29 show dates currently scheduled through November 19. King Crimson's "Music Is Our Friend" Tour will kick off on July 22 in Clearwater, FL and will run through September 11, with 28 show dates scheduled so far. Bruce Springsteen announced a new 30-show series of performances of "Springsteen On Broadway" to take place at Jujamcyn's St. James Theatre in Midtown Manhattan. Finally, Pete Townshend's 1985 hit, "Give Blood," will be used as part of this year's World Blood Donor Day which takes place on June 14 every year. The campaign is a joint initiative of the World Health Organization and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies to raise awareness of the need for blood and blood products and to thank donors. "Give Blood," which reached #5 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart, is from Townshend's album, "White City: A Novel."
